InStyle Stamps Blog Hop ~ Fantasy!!

Happy Friday!!!       Yes, it’s time for another InStyle Stamps Blog Hop!!

Phew, where did the month go??   Our theme this month is FANTASY ~  including some  Knights, Princesses, Fairies and  Dragons  …  oh my.

This little cutie patootie is one of the new Twinkling Fairies from ISS.   I just think she’s the cutest ever!  She’s colored with one of my very favorite color combinations of Copic markers ~ light blue and blue-green.  Since she’s a twinkling fairy, I added lots of Stickles and rhinestones.

The glittered background paper is also one of my favorites ~ DCWV All Dressed Up stack, and the sentiment is computer generated.   I was totally amazed ~ I just happened to have this perfectly matching gorgeous ribbon in my stash!!   Don’t you just love when that happens??!!     😀

Now, for the details of this month’s Blog Hop!    You must be sure to check out all the fantasy themed projects from the always amazing ISS Design Team…   A listing which includes links to each of their blogs can be found on my sidebar ——————->

We are also, once again, having a contest ~ make sure you head on over to the InStyle Stamps Blogto vote for your favorite project!   The DT member who gets the most votes will win a prize … and YOU can WIN A PRIZE JUST FOR VOTING!!

All you have to do is place your vote and then leave your answer to the following question:

“What is (was) your favorite fairytale?”

to be entered for a PRIZE!  Please remember, you do need to leave your answer in order to be entered into the drawing. The contest will remain open until 11:59pm EST on Saturday, August 1st , and winners will be announced on Sunday.

Thanks for dropping in today!    Hope you have plans for an awesome weekend.

I hope you dance … and, some Exciting News!!! :)

One of my favorite songs ever,  is I Hope You Dance by Lee Ann Womack.   I, of course,  fell in love with this Penny Black stamp called – Ecarte, Splits, Pirouette!  I was singing the song the ENTIRE time I was working on this card …  and probably will continue to do so for days after.   😀

To my amazement,    DSC_6852aI received an email one Saturday morning a few months ago from  Kathy Peterson of Lifetime TV  (!)     asking  if I would be willing to write an article about my love for cardmaking!!!   She had found my blog through the title   “My Cardz, My Passion  ….  My Therapy“.

She and Barb Dehn, a RN, who also does some TV appearances, have collaborated and created a new website called CRAFT FOR HEALTH.

After I picked my jaw up off the floor, I finally was able to write about my true love of cardmaking, especially coloring with Copics!   I’ve since been asked to be a monthly contributor to the website!!

One of the points I tried to get across is the amazing friends I’ve made in this awesome blog world!

Today is the debut of my article!

I really hope you can take a peek.   And, if YOU have a story to tell about how crafting has affected your life  …   I just happen to  know someone who would put a good word in for you at the Craft for Health site!

I hope you have a minute to visit  Craft for Health, there are some truly amazing stories from people who have survived some life-changing events, only through their love of CRAFTING.    Some of my favorites are a man who paints on human hands/arms!  and “my divorce quilt”!      🙂

Thanks for your visit today.      I’ve included the lyrics to the “I Hope You Dance” song below in case you would like to sing along with me!

I hope you never lose your sense of wonder
You get your fill to eat
But always keep that hunger
May you never take one single breath for granted
God forbid love ever leave you empty handed
I hope you still feel small
When you stand by the ocean
Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens
Promise me you’ll give faith a fighting chance

And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance
I hope you dance

I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance
Never settle for the path of least resistance
Living might mean taking chances
But they’re worth taking
Lovin’ might be a mistake
But it’s worth making
Don’t let some hell bent heart
Leave you bitter
When you come close to selling out
Give the heavens above
More than just a passing glance

House Mouse Challenge No. 48 ~ A Sketch [& Happy 30th Birthday, Jessica!]

Happy House Mouse Monday!!

Our challenge this week is a Sketch, created by the super talented Emma of the House Mouse DT.

For my card, I used the Gruffies image called Red Roller Racing, featuring Biggly.  I just crack up every time I see the look of panic on his face!

I also thought this would be a funny card for my daughter, Jessica, who turned the BIG 30 on Saturday!     hee hee     Especially, with the inside sentiment!

Obviously, this is not true ~ although I think some people really feel that way!!

I used papers from my scrap drawer, which was nice for a change …   I always wondered why I kept these!   Added lots of red shiney brads on the card base and on the wagon wheels.  The image itself was stamped 3x, cut out twice and mounted with pop it dots.  I also heat embossed the little red wagon 3x.   Here’s a picture to show the actual shine, since it doesn’t show at all on the previous photos:

Soooo, I hope you can play along with this challenge  …  all the details can be found on the House Mouse Challenge blog, along with the other wonderful projects by my fellow Design Team members.  Be sure the check them out.

Thanks for stopping in – Have a great week!

PTI Blog Hop ~ Using Text

Yay!  It’s time for another PTI Blog Hop.   The theme this month is “how you use text in your projects”.

I chose PTI’s Quilters Sampler stamps for my card.  I thought the text theme would work well with this sentiment, portraying the many stories that piece together our lives.

The quilt blocks were stamped onto preprinted text paper by Graphic 45.   It’s pretty hard to see the actual text on the blocks in the photos … but, it’s really there!   Each block is colored with Copics, highlighted with Distress vintage photo ink and some Kaiser self-adhesive pearls were added.

The background dp is also from Graphic 45  and is a polka-dotted paper ~ each dot has text on it.

Thanks for stopping in today!   Hope you’re having a great weekend.

Thank you berry much! :)

Just a Friday quickie for you, featuring this Karen Lockhart stamp, Strawberries.   It’s so amazing that these tiny, detailed stamps are just enough to create an entire card.

I have to admit, I did “case” this card from one of my favorite blogs that  I LOVE to stalk  ~  Thinking Inking by Debbie Olson.   Here’s her original card …    Spring Fling Everywhere.    She is such an amazing artist!   Believe me, you’ll get lost for hours when you visit her blog!

The background card stock is embossed with the QuicKutz Stripes Label embossing folder,  the strawberries and bowl were heat-embossed with clear EP,  and Iwas able to sneak in a small piece of some Graphic 45 DP behind the main image!  🙂  Once in awhile, I like to make a very simple card, and let the image speak for itself  ~ I think ALL the Lockhart stamps allow this to happen.

And, if I may say ….     T-G-I-F!!!       It’s been another lonnnnnnnggggg  week!   I’m soooooo looking forward to the weekend.     Hope you have a GREAT Friday!

P.S.   If you have a minute …  please take a peak at my Surfing Edwin card from the new Lazy Summer Days collection on my Magnolia  blog.

If friends were flowers …

I was so very excited to make my first Lazy Summer Days  collection card  …  just like a kid in a candy shop ~ I didn’t know which to pick first!!    Decided to go with this totally adorable Tilda with Bike and the background flowers stamp.

The design papers are from the Basic Grey Porcelain set and I thought they matched pretty well with the flowers on these two images.   I really had to hold myself back from adding any extra flowers since I wanted to highlight Tilda.    This is one of my favorites from this set … I just love her little bike!   Okay, who am I kidding  … they’re all my favorites!!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!    Hope you’re have a wonderful day.

Simple Joys! :)

Edited to add:   The SOOOO very nice Danni of  Danni’s Dreams  pointed out that my card today would work great for her Flutter By Wednesday Challenge  this week, which is to use little or no DP on your card.  Be sure to check out this challenge here!    (Thanks Danni!)

Well, this little guy certainly seems to be enjoying himself among the poppies and butterflies!  Don’t you wish you could spend some time like this?    🙂

I thought the sentiment from PTI was perfect for this little Penny Black hedgie stamp called Poppy Fields.  I cut out a second set of butterflies and attached them on top of the original image for a little bit of a dimensional look.  The ribbon is rather frilly in an attempt to try to match the deckled rectangle Spellbinders Nestability die used, but, I’m just not too sure about it!  The DP used is by Graphics 45 – my fav.

Thanks for your visit today ~ I truly  appreciate it!

Ohhhhh….and guess who got happy mail from Sweden yesterday????      😀       Yay!!

Copics Used:   YR00, 14, 20, 23, 24, 31, 61, 65, 68;  YG03, 11, 25; R000, 20, 30; B000, 00; C1, 3, 7; V12; E000

House Mouse Challenge No. 47 ~ White on White

Our challenge this week is the exact opposite of last week’s challenge ~ The ONLY thing that can have color is the House Mouse stamp …   EVERYTHING else must be white!    🙂       Now this one I could handle!     I think I neglected to mention that each week one of the HMDT members will be selecting the challenge ~ last week’s challenge was created byAmerica …   I haven’t stopped giving her a hard time about it since!  (love ya!)    And, this week’s challenge is by Carolyn  (I like her so much better!)   lol

Peace on Earth

I just happened to have some Martha Stewart white embossed border stickers that, to me, looked like olive branch leaves, so I added those to the top and bottom of this card.    Also added some glitter to the bottom of the pine branch and on the white brads.      So, this was a fun challenge ~  I hope you can join us!    As always, don’t forget to see the inspiring projects from the House Mouse Design Team.

Thank you for dropping in today – have a great week!

Copics Used:  G00, 24, 28, 29; YG00, 95, 97, 99; E000, 00, 29, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 51, 53, 55, 57; YR00, 24, 31; R20, 30; C1, 3, 5

Sending you a bouquet of good cheer! :)

Well,  I’m still patiently waiting for my stamps to arrive from Sweden, and thought I would do another older Tilda image called Tilda Holding Crowsfeet Flowers. I just love her braided hair on this image!

The paper and buttons used for this card are from the new Basic Grey lemonade  collection … every sheet is a delight!  I made this card for the Just Magnolia Challenge, which is to add buttons to your card.

Hope you’re having a great weekend!

Lucy & Kitty by Sarah Kay

Happy weekend!!

This is one of the new Sarah Kay images from Stampavie ~ Lucy & Kitty.   I really love all the Sarah Kay images, but I think this one is among my favorites.    I put this card together for the Stampavie Design Team Challenge No. 8, In The Garden.    The paper used is from the new Basic Grey collection lemonade ….   I love these papers!!

This new adorable Sarah Kay stamp and the gorgeous new Basic Grey collections – lemonade & june bug are NOW AVAILABLE at 7 Kids College Fund where you’ll ALWAYS find the best prices in town!!   🙂

Hope you’re enjoying your weekend.

Flower Basket Tilda

Happy Friday!   I’m so happy you could stop in today.

I received word this week from that my first set of stamps has been mailed!!    Yay!    Hopefully, they will be here soon, so I can share some new images with you.

This little cutie is an older image called Flower Basket Tilda by Magnolia, colored with Copics (is there any other way to color?!).  I added some lavender Stickles at the center of each flower and icicle Stickles on her wings.   The DP used, in one of my favorite colors, is by Cloud 9 ~ Pixie Dust Periwinkle and the yellow flowers were cut out with two generic flower punches from my stash.

Flower Basket

Thought this “Absolutely Adorable” ribbon was perfect for little Tilda ~ it’s by Reflections Bobbin Ribbon.  I tried to make her flower basket look like it was filled with Black-Eyed Susan flowers ~ to me, the centers appear purple, rather than black.   Here’s a photo of  a Black-Eyed Susan plant from our garden …

Thank you for your visit today ~ TGIF!     😀
