Skater Ian

Happy Weekend!    Just a quick post for you today showing you a card I made for my grandson, Justus, who celebrated his . . .  {cough, cough} 11th Birthday recently!!     It’s pretty scary when you GRANDkids are getting up there!   🙂

I used Skater Ian  from The Greeting Farm.   What adorable images – now available at 7 Kids College Fund!

The dp is from the Stamping Station and called Skateboarding – Live For.  Ian was colored with Copics, cut out and mounted with dimensionals.    The number 11 was created by me!  🙂   (pretty easy number)  and cut from some Basic Grey dp I had.   I added some silver self-adhesive stars that were colored black with Copics.

Thanks for stopping in today.   Don’t forget Monday I’ll have two cardz – Copic Creations AND House Mouse!    Hope you can stop back.

Copics Used:   R27, 35, 46, 89;  E000, 00, 01, 11, 30, 31, 35, 37;  T1, 3, 5; W3, 6, 8; C4, 7; 100

Shabby Chic Bunny in the Garden

Floppy Bunny  is a brand new image from an Easter set  just released at I Brake For Stamps. (I can’t wait to color those adorable little bunnies peeking over the hill, also from this set!)    And, don’t forget to use code SAVE10MARY to receive 10% off your entire purchase from I Brake For Stamps

As soon as I saw this stamp, I thought she definitely should be watercolored . . .  not sure why!   So Miss Floppy Bunny has been watercolored with Distress Inks on cold-press watercolor paper.   I did a tutorial quite awhile ago for this technique that can be found here  ~  It’s actually a nice break from Copics!    (short-lived, but nice!)

I decided that she also would be perfect for the shabby chic style.   So, out came my Tim Holtz Paper Distresser from Tonic Studios and LOTS of Distress ink in Vintage Photo.   The gorgeous vintage flower is from the Prima Ameruse Duchess Mix and the little filigree butterfly charm is from Vintaj Natural Brass Company.   The ribbon is from May Arts and I added some MS glitter from the woodland glitter set to the flower in her hand.   I almost forgot!    The dp is from a K&Co paper pad called Classic K, unfortunately most of it is covered!

Thanks for stopping by today!    TGIF!!!!    Since Monday is the 1st AGAIN, it’s another double-header – House Mouse Monday AND Copic Creations.

Copics Used:   NONE!    😀

Everything Grows With Love :)

[Oops!   I had prescheduled this to post and was planning to go back and add a little “chit-chat about it” and totally forgot!!     I’m so sorry for anyone who visited earlier and wondered what happened.]

This sweet little girl is from a stamp set called Moments In Time … by Flower Soft, now available at 7 Kids College Fund.    I pretty much followed the colored image that came with with the set since I thought these colors worked really well.    So, I can’t take much credit for this.

Since the stamp is from Flower Soft, I thought I HAD to add some to the card – so there is just a bit Shamrock Green FS on the grass!     7KCF now has the Ultra-Fine Flower Soft in stock, which looks pretty cool!   ~  I’ll have to order some and let you know all about it!

 Here’s the full card …

I followed this tutorial for making my MS edge punch fit the oval shape and just LOVE this idea – VERY easy!   🙂  The dp is from an older Basic Grey collection called Perhaps.

I also added LOTS of teeny, tiny 3mm brads from Bazzill.   My good friend Pam asked Tab from 7KCF if she would carry these in the store and she has obliged!    You can find these in lots of colors.    I think I may have gone a bit overboard with the brads on this card, but I had fun!

The sentiment is also from the Moments in Time stamp set  and I just love it!

Thanks for visiting and for all your wonderful comments  ~  They truly are my inspiration!

Copics Used:   E000, 00, 01, 11, 13, 15, 18, 19, 30, 33, 37, 40, 41, 42, 44, 50, 51, 53, 97, 99;  YG00, 01, 03, 23, 25;  YR21, 23, 31;  Y00, 11, 21;  R20, 30;  BG93, 96;  B60, 63; W1, 3, 4, 6;  T1

All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge ~ Use Newsprint or a Book Page

Time for my favorite challenge!   This week, we were to use newsprint or a book page on our card.   All I can say is CHALLENGE is the absolute correct term here.    I was really stumped … until I looked at the C.C. Designs images I had and saw this adorable Nurse Nora.   It all made perfect sense after that!   🙂    (TG!)

Here’s the full — VERY BRIGHT — card

Don’t ya just love her shiny red boots??!!

I decided to make a card for someone (seems like EVERYONE at this time of year) who is suffering from a cold/flu bug.   I included an article from the internet on “How to Care for a Cold“.    The DP used is from the Basic Grey June Bug 6×6 paper pad ~ I thought the center print looked just like a warm, cozy quilt ~ Exactly what is needed when suffering from a cold or flu!

Here’s a closeup of a portion of the article …   I love the first item “Eat chicken soup“!

TWO new items of interest!     Nurse Nora’s wings were painted with a new SMOOCH paint product.  You know I LOVE Smooch paint!    It’s called  Smooch Illuminate Pearlized Top Coat, and  YES, I love it!   It’s similar to shimmerz paint, but doesn’t leave that dark glitter appearance.   The glitter is an iridescent combo of pinks and greens – VERY cool IRL.

AND, I’ve finally used my Nellie Snellen flower punches/embossers (?)  for this card!   Yes, I love them too!   🙂       Tab from 7KCF has just added this NEW set to the store, now up for preorder!

Be sure to take a peek at all the cards for this challenge from the awesome ATS Wednesday Challenge Design Team.    There is a prize up for grabs, if you join us — all the details can be found here.

Happy Wednesday …   we’re getting closer!

Copics Used:   R17, 20, 29, 30, 35, 89;  Y11, 21;  B60, 63;  E000, 00, 01, 11, 97, 99;  W1, 3;  T1, 3, 5

Skipping Stones Sketch Challenge ~ An Irish Blessing

Hi!   Time for another Sketch Challenge at Skipping Stones Design.   Our Sketch was once again designed by Belinda of Bleu Bella Paperie.  I really love this Sketch and will definitely be saving it to use again.

For my card, I used the Rustic Tiles stamp set from SSD.

When I saw the first tile, it really reminded me of a Celtic Knot design – so, I decided to use it for a St. Patty’s Day card.

I hope you aren’t tired of seeing my cardz using the new Basic Grey origins paper ~ I really love it!!     The tile was colored with Copics and then edged with Distress Ink in Vintage Photo.   I also used the Spellbinders Shapeabilities Pendants Lattice die to mount the tile on and added a brad from Vintage brads by Creative Charms.   The ribbon is from an awesome package of goodies I received from my dear friend America.   The sentiment is computer generated.

The inside of the card is one of my favorite Irish Blessings, also computer generated …

Here’s a closeup, if you would like to read it:

Be sure to stop over at the Skipping Stones’ blog to check out all the amazing cards by the Design Team – a/k/a The Stamp Tramps!   I hope you will give this Sketch a try!

Copics Used:   G24, 40;  YG11, 67;  W3     (Wow, not too many!)     😀

Bunny Blooms

Just taking a little break from my Tildas and wanted to share this sooooooo adorable bunny with you!    He’s called Bunny Blooms from High Hopes ~ in stock and available at 7 Kids College Fund.   I believe he was illustrated by the very sweet Crissy Armstrong …  I seriously love everything she does!

Did you notice his shiny white teeth?   I used some Smooch paint in moonlight to make them nice and shiny!

The DP for this card is from Graphic 45 (my fav) the Baby 2 Bride Collection ~ Love Me Tender.   Mr. Bunny was colored with Copics, cut out and attached with dimensionals.  I colored an extra set of the tulips and attached those also with dimensionals for a little extra depth.    Here’s a quick photo showing the layers …

I used an EK Success swirl border punch for the middle section and attached that with dimensionals also.   In case you’re wondering, YES, I go through about a case of dimensionals per month!   LOL

Thanks for visiting today ~ I hope you’re having a great weekend.    My break is over, time to get back to the Tildas.   🙂

Copics Used:   R01, 02, 12, 20, 21, 30;  E50, 51, 53:  B60, 63;  G12;  YG11;  W1, 2, 3, 4

I Brake For Stamps ~ Stained Glass

Happy Weekend everyone!    I’m soooooooo ready for the weekend to begin!   It has been a VERY long week and I’m so looking forward to the weekend.

Have I ever mentioned that I actually used to do stained glass?     Yes ~  dangerous, skin-cutting glass, held together with heated lead!!    I even know how to solder.    My major hobby before I discovered cardz, was stained glass.   I have a third-of-a-garage full of supplies and glass to prove it.   LOL     That was,  until I discovered cardz;     Unfortunately, my glass now collects dust.

But, my cardmaking supplies are alive and well!   yay.

Since it’s Friday, it’s time for another I Brake For Stamps  post – using their gorgeous Stained Glass Floral Circle.   Here’s a photo of my card . . .

I really enjoyed coloring this floral image – It’s the first time I’ve used these Copic colors  . . .  RV91, 93, 95 & 99, and I love them!    They are not quite pink and not quite purple, more of a mauvey-pink!     They seemed to match perfectly with this brand new Memory Box DP, called Cool Beans and Flitter.    The ribbon is from May Arts and the brads are from my stash.    The main image is mounted on a circle Spellbinders Nestabilities die cut, which has then been attached to a Labels 3 die cut.

Don’t forget, when you have time to browse the amazing selection of stamps at I Brake For Stamps, be sure to use the code

for a 10% discount off your entire purchase!

Thanks for dropping by today.  I hope you have a great weekend.   The deadline is fast approaching for our projects for the next Magnolia Ink Magazine ~ Guess what I’ll be doing this weekend???

Happy Wednesday!   Time for another All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge.   We were to use the following recipe for our cards:   4 embellishments, 3 papers, 2 colors and 1 image.

For my image, I used another of the Flower Power monkeys ~ I just love their cute little faces!    My 2 colors are brown and yellow ~ white doesn’t count, right?    The 3 papers I used are K&Co Wild Saffron Daisies, Bo Bunny Buttercup Dot and Brown cardstock.   And, my 4 embellishments are three matching daisy flowers from K&Co and ribbon from Bo Bunny, Double Dot.    Here’s the full recipe card . . .

Skipping Stones Hop(e) for Haiti

Welcome to Skipping Stones Design’s Blog Hop(e) for Haiti.

If you just happened upon my blog today, you’ll want to go back to the beginning at Skipping Stones Design.  You should have come from Sharon Perry’s blog

As a company and Design Team, we wanted to do something to give back to the people who have been so devastated by the Haitian Earthquake.  So we thought what better way than to invite some of our favorite fabulous stampers to join us in this cause.

Each card you see on the blog hop today will be auctioned on E-bay with all proceeds going to the Red Cross in support of the Haitian Relief Effort.  100% of the proceeds from the E-bay auction AND $2.00 from every stamp set purchased from Skipping Stones Design, February 16 – 22, will be donated to the Red Cross.

We know that we can ALL make a difference.

I will definitely be keeping my chatter to a minimum today so you can hop to the next blog.   Since I feel so strongly about this cause and our obligation as human beings to do what we can to help, in addition to my card I’ve also put together a little prize which will also be auctioned off on E-bay.    I’ve included LOTS of photos to help convince you to make a bid!    🙂      [To save time, I’ve included the specific details on my card and extra project in the post after this.]

My card, using Skipping Stones’ Margarita Birthday set  . . .

Soooo, how about a PRIZE for YOU?   In addition to the fabulous eye candy, we have decided to hide a prize somewhere along the hop!   There will also be a few pre-release sets up for grabs hidden along the blog hop.  The fun part is … we’re not telling you who it is!    So as you hop, be sure to leave comments on every post so you have a chance to win!!

Copic Creations Challenge ~ Coloring Embellishments

Yay!   Time for another Copic Creations Challenge.   We went with a simple challenge this week ~ coloring your embellishments with Copics.    It’s really amazing what you can color with Copic markers ~ brads, buttons, ribbon, thread, pearls, primas ….  just about anything and everything!   (just don’t tell the kids!)

We’ve also featured an Easter/Spring theme, with images provided by our sponsor DZ Doodles Digital Stamps.  They have an awesome selection of Easter images, along with every other holiday and theme you could imagine.   Hope you can take a peek.   I’ve used their Bowl of Lilies digital image for my card.

And, surprise, surprise!   Another easel card.   🙂

This gorgeous digi image was printed out three times and colored with Copics.  One image was cut out and attached to another with dimensionals ~ I also cut out the two center lilies from the third image and attached those with dimensionals for a little extra depth.   I added some Fruit Punch Stickles to the centers.   The DP is from Webster’s Pages – Your Life. Beautiful and Bo Bunny – Flamingo Double Dot.

I unfortunately didn’t want to add too many embellishments to this image, so only the ribbon and gems have been colored with Copics to match the pink color of the DPs.    You can find an awesome tutorial on the Copic Creations blog showing how this is done.

So, you really MUST join us for this challenge ~ it’s an easy one!    All the details and the AWESOME Design Team samples can be found here.

Phew!   I think that’s it for today!

House Mouse Challenge ~ Multi-Fold Card

Happy House Mouse Monday!

I hope you all had a great weekend and a very nice Valentines Day.   It’s a busy, busy Monday today.   I’ll start it out with our House Mouse Challenge – Multi-fold cards, chosen this week by the VERY talented Christine of the HMDT.    I do enjoy making these easel cards ~ as you’ll see,  if you happen to stop back later today, tomorrow AND Wednesday!   lol     Like I’ve said before, I get on these kicks!    🙂

This is one of my very favorite HM stamps, it’s called Special Delivery and features the whole gang ~ Mudpie, Amanda, Maxwell and Monica.   I stamped the image twice and colored both with Copics, certain parts were then cut out and attached with dimensionals.   I used a clear Spica pen to add some shimmer to the raindrops.

The DP is from the Bo Bunny Gypsy Collection ~ Gypsy Spice.   A tutorial for making this easel style card,  for anyone who hasn’t tried it yet,  can be found here.

The sentiment is computer generated …

Be sure to stop over at the BEST, ORIGINAL House Mouse Challenge Blog to see the always awesome projects from the House Mouse Design Team.     All the details to join us for this challenge can be found here too.

Hope you can stay tuned for my second post for today for the Copic Creations Challenge No. 22!    🙂

Exciting News from 7 Kids College Fund!

Smiley from

I’m super excited to let you know that 7KCF will now be carrying the adorable stamps from THE GREETING FARM!!

They have just arrived in the store and are ready to ship!!!     Here’s a direct link to these cuties …

THE GREETING FARM, now at 7 Kids College Fund!

I DEFINITELY Brake for Stamps!

When the super nice Della from I Brake For Stamps asked me to be on her Design Team, how could I say NO??!!     She has the most amazing selection of stamps.

And, being on the DT has benefits for YOU too!    If you use this code

you will receive 10% off your entire purchase at I Brake For Stamps.    Pretty cool, huh?

My first  choice was to use some of her gorgeous floral stamps.   The three pictured above were stamped on watercolor paper and colored with Distress Inks.   I really thought they would look VERY cool framed and hung in a group on a cream colored wall ~ unfortunately, I have to show them to you on our fireplace mantle – just not the same!    lol

Here are individual photos of each stamp …  first up Poppy Tile Collage

Second, Magnolia Tile Collage

and the last one is English Rose Tile Collage.

I did also make a card with the English Rose Tile Collage stamp, coloring it with Copic markers several times and cutting out various layers …

Here’s the full card …

I used the Spellbinders Shapeabilities Pendants Fleur De Lis …  but, since my stamped image was slightly larger, I actually used two die cut pendants, adding the extra single Fleur De Lis in each corner and threading a ribbon through the middle.

One FINAL picture, I promise ~ just a closeup of the different layers of the rose.

Whew!   Sorry this has been so long!    I really hope you’ll check out the awesome selection of stamps at I Brake For Stamps.   I will be featuring a stamp from IBFS every Friday on my blog.    And don’t forget use code SAVE10MARY for your discount!

Oops!   I should also mention that IBFS  has a blog that features some gorgeous cards, ATCs, vintage items, etc.  … lots of projects by the DT.   AND, through Sunday, February 14th,  you can enter for the chance to win a a half sheet of stamps.   All the details can be found here.

Happy weekend to you …  next week is a super busy week, starting out on Monday with a new House Mouse challenge AND a Copic Creations challenge, onto Tuesday for the Hop(e) for Haiti blog hop from Skipping Stones, and Wednesday a new All That Scraps challenge!      Yikes!     🙂      Hope to see you next week.
