Happy Friday!    Time for another Phindy’s Place challenge ~ Buttons or Brads.    This cutie pie is called Hugs from Here and is available as a digi image from Phindy’s Place.

I really enjoyed coloring this cutie!   The DP is from DCWV Nana’s Kids ~ thought it was pretty appropriate!   The clear green button is from my stash and the wide white polka-dotted ribbon also.   The green checked ribbon is from May Arts.  I added a bit of Stickles in Stardust to the stars on the baby’s shirt to match the DP.   The sentiment is computer generated.  That’s it!

Time to hop over to the Phindy’s Place challenge blog to see all the ADORABLE button/brad projects from the amazing Design Team for some awesome inspiration to join us for this challenge.

All That Scraps Challenge ~ A Sketch

Yay!   Yep, it’s Wednesday again!!   You know what that means . . . a new challenge at All That Scraps, my favorite place for total cuteness.    Our challenge this week was a SKETCH designed by my old House Mouse buddy,  the Sketch MasterJanneke!

I’ve been sooo addicted to the Monochrome technique using Copic markers, that I just HAD to do another!   This adorable image is from the May release C.C. Designs collection ~ Swiss Sweater Birgitta.   Isn’t she just the cutest?!   I also added the digi sentiment ~ Swiss Thinking of You.

I can’t even tell you how much I LOVE this coloring technique!    For this one, I’ve used Copic markers in the toner grays  (T family).   I only have three, so I had to do LOTS of blending!    Birgitta has been popped up on a Spellbinders Nestabilities Large Deckled Mega Rectangle die cut.  All the DP is from the Imaginisce To Love & Cherish collection.   I added some rhinestone stickers in a gray tone again, and that’s about it!

Hope you can join us for this great sketch challenge.  Be sure to stop over at the All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge blog to take a peek at the always amazing projects for the Design Team.

Thanks for stopping by today!

For Jayme . . .

As you may have heard, my friend – Lisa Cook, who I am lucky enough to work with on both the House Mouse & Friends Challenge and Sundays with Crissy design teams, has asked for cards for her sister, Jayme.   Tragically, Jayme has been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer.   Jayme loves and collects frogs, so Lisa thought some funny frog cards might help cheer her up.

This toad-aly cute frog, called  Beach Baby Jayme, has been designed specifically for this task by the one and only, so very kind ~  Crissy Armstrong!   The image is available at Whimsy Stamps.   AND, believe it or not, it’s being offered at NO CHARGE!!    You can download the image HERE.

Lisa has been kind enough to gather some great blog candy from several SUPER companies ~ all you have to do to be eligible for a chance to win,  is make a card for Jayme!    All the details and Jayme’s mailing address can be found on Lisa’s blog.

Quick details on this card . . .  The DP is from the brand new Cosmo Cricket mini deck ~ DeLovely.   (I LOVE  it!)    The pink felt flower ribbon is from Michaels and the sentiment is computer generated.   Beach Baby Jayme has been colored with Copics.

I hope you can find some time to make a card for Jayme.    Thank you!

Rawr!

Isn’t he a cutie!?    I had to post this Mr. Dinosaur card to let you know about some exciting news.    I Brake For Stamps has just opened a new DIGI store ~ called I Brake for Digis . . . of course!    They have an awesome selection of digital images ready for your immediate download.   There are even a few free images for those of you still on the fence about digi images – you can try them out before you buy!

This big guy is called Dinosaur!   For some reason when I saw him, the first sentiment that came to my mind was  SMILE!

I thought it would be fun to give him some bright pink spots with Copics, but they ended up looking more like stripes!   Oh well.    I added a little Smooch in Moonlight to his teeth and eye.   The sunrise background was sponged on using Distress Inks in spiced marmalade, wild honey and mustard seed.    The DP is from the Basic Grey origins 6×6 paper pad, the ribbon label sentiment is from Making Memories and the purple & green ribbon is from my stash.

So take a peek at this awesome brand new digi image store  ~  I Brake For Digis.     And, if you use Coupon Code SAVE10MARY at checkout, you’ll receive a 10% Discount off your entire order!!

Sundays with Crissy ~ Layers

Hello!    Thanks for stopping by today for a new challenge at Sundays with Crissy.   Our challenge this week is Layers ~ open to your own interpretation.   Another easy one for me since I usually layer my cards often, starting with cutting out the image and mounting it with dimensionals.

For this card, I’ve used Crissy’s adorable Oswalda Goes Shopping from Squigglefly. I thought she would make a great card for soooo many occasions.

The dp is from the Basic Grey cappella collection ~ I thought the flowers on the first mat paper matched Oswalda’s flower on her hat pretty well!    I used the Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Eight dies for this card, added some liquid pearls to her necklace and regular self-adhesive pearls in various spots on the card.  The ribbon and primas are from my stash.

You MUST stop over at the Sundays with Crissy blog to see all the GORGEOUS creations from the Design Team ~ you’ll be amazed!    I hope you can join us for this challenge – all the details can be found HERE.

Hope you enjoy what’s left of the weekend!     Tomorrow will be our FIRST-EVER Blog Hop for the House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge ~ we have an amazing prize package up for grabs.   You can see a sneak peek HERE.

Phindy’s Place Challenge ~ Masculine Cards

Happy Friday!!!   Time for a new challenge at Phindy’s Place!    Our challenge this week is Masculine cards/projects.    This seems to always be a tough one – especially with the current popularity of prima flowers, rhinestones and all the bright pinks and other more feminine papers out there for cards.

I was happy to have the opportunity to use this little cutie for my card ~ Big Boots!   It’s pretty awesome that Phindy has this image available in the following formats ~ African American boy or girl –  boy or girl with glasses – and  caucasian boy or girl.    That’s just one of the many reasons why I love Phindy’s Place!

I thought it would be fun to make the computer generated sentiment look as though each word  has been nailed to the card.   I added a 3mm self-adhesive nail head  to each word “sign” and to the corners of the main mat and I also added a row of 5mm nail heads across the center of the card.    Both sizes of these nail heads are available at Gina K. Designs.

The DP is from the Basic Grey Marrakech 6×6 paper pad.   I used a Spellbinders Nestabilities Large Labels die for the main image.

I hope you will join us for this challenge  ~ be sure to stop over at Phindy’s Place Challenge blog for some amazing inspiration for this challenge from the awesome Design Team.

Hyacinth flowers

Hello!   Just a quickie for you today.   I pulled something in my back the other day and am now taking muscle relaxers . . . needless to say, my brain is a little relaxed too!      I wanted to share this card I made with the gorgeous Hyacinth Collage  stamp from I Brake For Stamps.    It’s actually a much prettier purple IRL, but the color just didn’t come out too well in the photo.

The papers are from the new Memory Box collection ~ Enchanted.    The hyacinth flowers were colored with Copics and the background was painted with Distress Ink in the new Crushed Olive color on watercolor paper.  The sentiment is a ribbon label from Making Memories, and the ribbon is from my stash.    That’s really it!   This was a pretty simple card, since I tried to keep the main focus on this beautiful image.

Don’t forget, if you are interested in buying any stamps from I Brake For Stamps, be sure to use this code for a 10% discount ~ SAVE10MARY.

Thanks for stopping by!   Hope you’re having a wonderful day!

All That Scraps Challenge ~ itsy, bitsy, teenie, weenie . . .

Yellow polka-dot bikini!

Yay, it’s Wednesday and time for a new challenge at All That Scraps!!     I bet you’re wondering what could the challenge possibly be??  No, not the latest swimwear!   hehehe   It’s actually dry embossing.    huh, you say?    Yep.  Our challenge this week is dry embossing – not my specialty, so you won’t find tooo much embossing on this card.   Just lots of DOTS to match the itsy, bitsy, teenie, weenie yellow polka-dot bikini!!!   (I STILL have this song in my head and just can’t get it out!!)    Smiley from millan.net

This little beach bum cutie is a brand new image from C.C. Designs ~ Honey Bikini!   I just love her cool sunglasses.

She’s been colored with Copics, cut out and popped up onto a Spellbinders Nestabilities Circle die cut, that was embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder.   Actually, the main mat, the circle sentiment, white edging around the sentiment and the white and yellow base cardstock were ALL embossed with this same folder.

The DP is from Bo Bunny, the best source for dotted paper –  IMO.   Her sunglasses were cut from a small section of some very cool imaginisce DP, that has an iridescent black coating on it.   I added some white self-adhesive candy dots to each corner and a yellow polka-dot organza ribbon from my stash.

Be sure to take a peek at the embossed creations from the All That Scraps DT.    And, if you’d like to join us for this challenge, all the details can be found on the All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge blog.

Thanks for stopping by!

Make a wish!

I thought this adorable Tilda would make a great birthday card for any little girl (or big girl!).    I’ve used one of the new Magnolia images from the Fairy Tale collection  ~ Magic Tilda  ~ She’s available at 7 Kids College Fund.    I think I LOVE each and every stamp in this awesome collection!

Magic Tilda has been colored with Copics, cut out, popped up and placed on a Spellbinders star die cut.  The papers used on this card, are from Magnolia  ~ I love these colors!   I’ve also added some Pink and light pink chandelier glass garland to the ribbon at the bottom.  I REALLY love these ~ they come  in several different colors ~  you can find them all here at 7 Kids!

Copic Creations Challenge ~ Monochrome

Nope, no need to adjust your monitor . . . and nope, my camera did not break!  🙂   Our challenge this week at Copic Creations  is Monochrome ~ a super fun technique that I hope to use again!    The image above was colored with all warm gray toned Copic markers (the Ws), no colors were used ~ a definite first for me.   This little cute fairy is called Marissa.

Marissa and the matching sentiment were provided by our amazingly talented sponsor – Katie Cotton.   She owns the online stamp store called Paper Makeup Stamps.    The name of her store is related to the fact that besides being an amazing paper crafting artist, she’s also a professional makeup and hair artist!   You REALLY need to check out her work – you will definitely not be disappointed . . . Katie’s makeup blog.

I was excited to find these rhinestone stickers in an actual GRAY stone  – I think they were made for this technique!    And, the background mat behind this adorable image has been highlighted with the new Distress Ink color of Pumice Stone  ~  another perfect match!    The paper is from Imaginisce, called To Love & Cherish.

So be sure to stop over at the Copic Creations Challenge blog to see ALL the totally gorgeous creations from the awesome Design Team.   We also have links to some VERY helpful video tutorials, also from Katie, on this fun technique.    You really should try it ~ you’ll like it!

Phindy’s Place Challenge ~ It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Nope, I really haven’t lost my mind  ~   It’s Friday   (TGIF,  BTW!!)    and time for a new challenge at Phindy’s Place.   Our challenge today is Christmas is Spring!    I’ve been so organized this year that all my Christmas papers and embellishments have long been safely stored away …   until this week!

This adorable Christmas image has been designed by the one and only Phindy and is available as a digi image for your immediate download!   How cool is that?    It’s called Deck the Halls.    You may know that I’m very partial to MICE, and this image seemed to be a perfect fit.   I love the expression on the bird’s face – he seems to be quite surprised to see what the noise on the roof is!    hehehe     Surprise, surprise!

The paper is from the Basic Grey Wassail 6×6 paper pad   (now on CLEARANCE at 7 Kids!)   I think I need to order another pad since this is my all-time favorite Christmas paper!     The image has been colored with Copics, cut out and attached with dimensionals to a Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Six die cut mat.

The snow-covered roof was painted on kraft paper with Smooch paint in Moonlight – my favorite technique for snow!

The sentiment is computer generated.  I also added some Distress Stickles in fired brick to the strings of cranberries on the  birdhouse & wreath and to the brads in each corner.

I hope you can stop over at the Phindy’s Place Challenge blog to take a peek at the AWESOME cardz from the VERY talented design team!   I know you will not be disappointed.

Thanks for visiting today for some VERY early Christmas cheer!   😀

Springtime Greetings

A sure sign that Spring has officially arrived is of course seeing the beautiful daffodils in bloom.   So I thought this image would be  perfect for a “springtime greetings” card.    It’s called Stained Glass Fairy Friends ~ available at I Brake For Stamps.   For any of you fairy collectors out there, IBFS has LOTS of gorgeous fairies for you.   Be sure to use Code SAVE10MARY for a 10% discount off your entire order.

The DP is from Basic Grey Kioshi – all these papers couldn’t be more perfect for Springtime, pastel toned projects.   The ribbon, which seemed to be made for this paper, is from Amuse.   The image is colored with Copics and some Crystal Stickles were added to the flower centers, fairy wings and hummingbird.    The sentiment is computer generated.

It’s a dreary, rainy day here in Wisconsin – Hope it’s sunny and bright where you are!
