All That Scraps Challenge ~ Box in a Bag!

Edited to add:    Oooops!!!    OMGoodness, how embarassing!  I guess I forgot something here!!   LOL    If I am able to have a challenge project done ahead of time, I usually add the photos, schedule the post and come back later to add my commentary, unfortunately, I was a little “un-well” yesterday and completely forgot to come back to this one!     Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeek!

Since I’m late – here’s the condensed scoop on this card:   It’s for our All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge – this week featuring “Box in a Bag“.   A tutorial can be found at SCS here.    I’ve used C.C. Designs Honey Sailor cutie for this project, which is a 4th of July surprise package for my twin granddaughters, Hailee & Jordynn.   I’ve added some sparkly RW&B pencils, some fun sparklers (every kids favorite for the 4th) and two small American flags.    Be sure to take a peek at all the gorgeous projects from the All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge DT!

Mama said there’d be days like this . . .

Happy Tuesday!   Hope you’re having a great week.   I recently found a – new to me – challenge blog that I thought would be fun to try this week.   It’s called JUGS!   a/k/a Just Us Girls.   This week’s challenge is to make a card using this apron template . . .

The template can be found on the JUGS blog, along with all the details.   Thought it would be fun to give it a try!   So, I pulled out one of my Magnolia images from the A Little Yummy For Your Tummy Collection ~ Oops Tilda.

I’ve used paper again from the new Olivia Basic Grey 6×6 pad for this cutie.  For the scalloped trim, I cut several rectangles using a Spellbinders Nestabilities Large Scalloped Long Rectangle die to match the border on the mat.   Tilda has been colored with Copics, cut out and attached with dimensionals to a Large Mega Scalloped Oval die.   The sentiment is computer generated.

I probably should give this one to my daughter Jessica!   She’s pregnant and actually due on July 14th ~ She has, however been having LOTS of contractions for the past FIVE days.   So, I’ve been babysitting for my twin cutie granddaughters off and on throughout.   Jessica and Brian actually took a trip to the hospital yesterday (very) early morning – only to be sent home since she’s not quite ready!!    Eeeeek.   I imagine we’ll be having a new baby any day though!   Yay!   😀

Thanks for stopping by!

NEW Basic Grey & Tilda!

Happy weekend!    I was so excited to receive the new Basic Grey papers ~ Olivia and Oliver that I just HAD to make a card!   This  brand new gorgeous Tilda was just waiting to see some ink too.    She’s called Tilda with Veil and she is part of the Magnolia Wedding Collection.    All these adorable stamps are available for pre-order at 7 Kids College Fund ~ You really should take a peek at the whole collection ~ they’re cuter than ever!

As I mentioned I HAD to use these new GORGEOUS papers.   The paper for this card is from the Olivia 6×6 paper pad . . .  all I can say is VERY COOL paper!!    I love each sheet!    Both collections are now in stock and available at 7KCF.

My main mat has been cut with one of the new Tim Holtz Alterations Sizzix dies called Movers & Shapers ~ Styled Labels ~ the perfect size for Tilda!   I also added some flourishes cut with another Tim Holtz die ~ Elegant Flourishes ~ using a coordinating green patterned paper also from Olivia.   Did you know these dies work with your Cuttlebug??   Yes, they do!   And, very easily too.

I had fun with this and used some white tulle for the veil on Tilda and across the center of the card, along with some velvet coral ribbon and flowers from my stash.   Tilda was colored with Copics, cut out and attached with dimensionals.

Hope you’re having a GREAT weekend ~ it’s so hard to believe it’s the last weekend of June already!   Thanks for stopping by today.

Phindy’s Place Challenge ~ 3D

Happy Friday!   Time for a new challenge at Phindy’s Place.  This week our challenge is 3D.   I thought it would be fun to make a 3D chalk holder for my granddaughter.  I was happy to find these deep colored chalks on sale at Target awhile ago and have also had this Short Pail from Stampendous just waiting to be filled!

I also thought this cutie would be a perfect image to match the chalk ~  She’s called Hopscotch and is available for immediate download at Phindy’s store.   She’s been colored with Copics, cut out and attached with dimensionals.  The chalk lines on her hopscotch were added with Prismacolor pencils over the Copic coloring.

The papers used are by Sassafras, called Nerdy Bird – tea for two ~ It’s actually the other side of the paper I used earlier this week for this card;  I thought the bright colors would match the chalk colors pretty well.   Added a few ribbons to match and that’s it!

Be sure to hop over the Phindy’s Place Challenge blog to take a peek at the always awesome projects from Phindy’s Design Team and hopefully you will be inspired to join us!

While I was outside taking photos of the chalk holder, I took a couple of some of my favorite very cool flowers in our garden to share with you.   They’re called Bees Balm and just starting to bloom.   They’ve actually spread so quickly and have completely filled in this section of the garden!

Thanks for stopping by today.   Hope you have a great weekend!

Sparkle and shine!

OMGoodness, I worked soooo hard on this card!!!      Ugh.   Sorry the color is so bad on these pics!   But, believe me you, I’ve taken at least FIFTY different versions, just trying to have them appear to be more of what they actually look like IRL!   Seriously!!!   This card was colored in February of this year!!   It was for Suzanne Dean’s very first editon of her awesome magazine – Through the Craftroom Door.   For some reason, no matter how hard I tried, it just didn’t work.   This gorgeous image is from Mo Manning, called  ~ Fairy Tabia.

The papers used are from Memory Box –  Epiphany and Skylights.  I’ve highlighted around the image with Colorbox, Celadon and Distress, weathered wood.   Embellishments used:  Smooch Spritz, vanilla shimmer; Stickles, Stardust & Diamond; Bazzill Basics, self adhesive bling stones in white; Suze Weinberg’s Beadazzles; and Copics.

That’s it for this card!

As you may know, my life is at a standstill right now – trying to sell our house!!   Unfortunately, it’s in a town VERY near to a huge GM plant that was shut down earlier this year and things are not moving very quickly at all!    So, we’re looking for a miracle right now!    All prayers are appreciated.   🙂

Thanks for stopping by today!

All That Scraps Challenge ~ Color Combo

Yes, it’s Wednesday already!!   This summer seems to be just flying by … sure wish the winter went this fast!    Our challenge this week at All That Scraps is a color combination of Caribbean Blue, Pink and Celery.   I think my pink is a bit more coral, but coral is a shade of pink … right???    Phew, good!   LOL

This adorable little cutie is one of the new images for June from C.C. Designs called Honey Summer and I just think she’s the cutest sitting on her inner tube throwing a big ole’ kiss to you!    C.C. Designs has some coordinating Summer Sentiments that are perfect for their new summer images.  Unfortunately, I didn’t get mine in time for this card, so the “Mwah” is computer generated.   She’s been colored with Copics, cut out and attached with dimensionals.  I used some of my Ultra Thick Embossing Powder from last week’s challenge on her inner tube to give it a little shine, which doesn’t seem to show too well in the photo.

Be sure to stop over at the All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge blog to see all the gorgeous challenge cards from the Design Team.  I hope you will be inspired to join us for this challenge!

It’s your day to Shine!

I was excited today to sneak in a card just for fun!  No challenges involved!!   Especially since I LOVE all the gorgeous new mermaid and sprite images from C.C. Designs Sweet November by the awesome Amy Young.   They’ve been just added at 7 Kids College Fund.

This gorgeous mermaid is called Fathom Calmsea.   Mermaids are always so much fun to color, especially these ones by Amy Young ~ she did such an awesome job with their eyes.

I kept the color scheme somewhat traditional ~  in the “Little Mermaid” colors.   I did, however, add lots of sparkle to this one!    Stickles in Glitz Mermaid  (of course!) have been added to both Fathom and her seahorse buddy; The ultimate sparkle accessory ~  Smooch illuminate pearlized topcoat was applied to both bodies;  The main white mat was sprayed with Baby’s Breath Shimmerz Spritz;  Some square rhinestones from my stash were also added;  Spica clear glitter pen was used over the word Shine in the sentiment; and small dots of Smooch moonlight to highlight their eyes.   If you haven’t tried the Smooch paints yet, I highly recommend them.  The brush is very tiny and precise ~ just perfect for eyes!

The dp is from Sassafras, called Nerdy Bird – tea for two.   I used the new Spellbinders Nestabilities Large Mega Scalloped Ovals die on the main mat and some teal ribbon from my stash.   The sentiment is computer generated.

Thanks for visiting today!   Hope your week is off to a good start.

House Mouse Challenge ~ New!

New Shoes

HAPPY HOUSE MOUSE MONDAY!!

I hope you had a good weekend!   Happy Monday to ya.  Time for another House Mouse & Friends  challenge.  This week our challenge is NEW ~ new baby, new home . . . NEW Shoes!    🙂     This stamp has always been one of my favorites ~ it’s called Big Foot, featuring Muzzy.    The sentiment is also one of my favorites, from an older PTI stamp set.

The DP is from My Mind’s Eye, Quite Contrary and October Afternoon, Fly a Kite.   Muzzy has been colored with Copics, cut out and attached with dimensionals. . . my usual procedure!    That’s about it, another easy one!

I hope you can pop over to the House Mouse & Friends Monday challenge blog to take a peek at all the ADORABLE  “New” projects from the awesome Design Team for some super inspiration to join along with this challenge.

Thanks for visiting today!

Sundays With Crissy ~ Monochrome

Happpy Sunday and Happy Father’s Day!    I hope you’re having a great day.   It’s time for a new challenge at Sundays With Crissy.   This week we’re covering Monochrome cards ~  I’ll bet you’ll NEVER guess who suggested this challenge!???   🙂     Yep, it is my favorite.    This awesome image, illustrated by Crissy Armstrong, called Daddy’s Heartbeat, is available as a digi image from Whimsy Stamps.   I thought it was a perfect stamp for Father’s Day.

I’ve added a bit of color this time – a slight pink (E04) to their lips and cheeks and the flower on the little girl’s hat …. ohh, and of course her finger nails too!   The Copic markers I used  (E70s) seem to have a somewhat natural pink/reddish tone to them, so it was very easy to incorporate some color without it being too harsh.    You can find the colors used at the end of this post.

The DP is from the Basic Grey cappella 6×6 paper pad … I really LOVE these papers!    I added a small bow using some brown crinkled ribbon from my stash, and attached a small heart charm.

The sentiment is also a digi.   It is part of a set of sentiments and word art designed especially to coordinate with this image by Rainbow Echo Designs for Whimsy Stamps, called Daddy’s Heartbeat Sentiments ~  Although they are all appropriate for LOTS of others images and cards.

I’ve used Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Six dies for the sentiment.   The main image has been cut with the Petite Ovals Large dies.    The pearls in each corner were colored with an E70 Copic marker and the brown swirls on the center of the card were cut with an EK Success punch.

I hope you can stop over at the Sundays With Crissy blog to see the always amazing creations from the talented ladies on Crissy’s Crew ~ You won’t be disappointed.    We’ve decided with everyone’s busy schedules during the summer to run this challenge for four weeks.   It will run until July 18th ~  So you will have plenty of time to join us for this really fun challenge!   To sweeten the deal, Crissy will be having TWO PRIZES!!

Phindy’s Place Challenge ~ Summer Sunshine

Happy Friday!   This week our challenge for Phindy’s Place is Summer Sunshine!    I chose this image since I thought it looked as though there is a warm summer breeze blowing through the window, while this cute little girl is waking up to see a beautiful summer day.  This cutie is called Thinking of You and is available as a digi image at Phindy’s Place.

The main DP is from Memory Box Jubilee, and the light blue border is from October Afternoon Ducks in a Row.   The image was colored with Copics, cut out and attached with dimensionals.   I added some blue dew drops to each corner and that’s it!     Wow, easy peasy!

Be sure to stop over at the Phindy’s Place Challenge Blog to take a peek at the gorgeous Summer time creations from the VERY talented Design Team.      I hope you can join us for this challenge!

All That Scraps Challenge ~ Cracked Glass

It’s that time again!   Time for a new challenge at All That Scraps.  Our challenge this week is the cracked glass technique … something I had never tried before and wasn’t too sure about it.    But, I must admit after giving it a try, I love it!!     Gina K Designs has an awesome video tutorial that includes putting your finished piece into the freezer, which I think, allows more control over where your “glass” cracks.

This image is from the C.C. Designs Sweet November collection ~ Darby & Penelope.   I’ve added some heavy jute twine and large eyelets to make it look like they are sitting on a swing together . . . not too sure it comes across that way!

I added LOTS of layers of clear Ultra Thick Embossing Powder after coloring these cuties with Copics.  I was unsure how the EP might affect the Copic ink, but I was relieved to find that it didn’t do a thing!   Phew.   After bending the image for the cracked effect, I didn’t care too much for the cracks going over their faces, so I quickly took my heat gun and went over just that area to re-melt it, trying NOT to hit the other areas.   I then went over the cracks with some Distress Ink in Vintage Photo, as shown in Gina’s video.

The dp is from the Basic Grey Max & Whiskers 6×6 paper pad, which actually has some cool papers that aren’t necessarily for dogs or cats!  The sentiment is from my favorite “go to” company for their awesome sayings – PTI; which has also been given the “cracked glass” treatment!   I used Spellbinders Nestabilites Labels 2, Large Petite Ovals and the new Large Mega Scalloped Ovals on this card.  And added a ribbon bow from my stash.

You really should give this challenge a try, you’ll find that it’s actually fun!   For some great inspiration to join us, be sure to pop over to the All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge blog to see all the awesome projects from the DT.

Hope you’re having a good week!

Copic Creations ~ “Other” Paper

Yay.  Time for a new Copic Creations challenge!    This week we are featuring coloring on “other” papers with Copics.   Quite the challenge indeed!    I used coldpress watercolor paper for this image.    I love the texture of watercolor paper, unfortunately, it does soak up ALOT of your Copic ink ~ although blending is VERY smooth on this type of paper.

This gorgeous image is from our SUPER sponsor for this challenge, Stampavie.    The image is called Bernadette Admiring the Spring Flowers.   I thought the sentiment from PTI was perfect since, as you can see, there are two tiny bees buzzing about!   🙂

The DP is from the Basic Grey kioshi 6×6 paper pad.   I’ve used Spellbinders Nestabilities Large Deckled Rectangles and Ribbon Tag Trios 2 dies for this card.  The pearl flower sticker accent is from Zva Creative ~ Long Flourish Pearls, which I’ve cut and applied to each side.   The sentiment is from my favorite PTI set ~ Flower Garden Sentiments.

I hope you will join us for this challenge ~  all the details and the ALWAYS awesome Design Team creations can be found on the Copic Creations Challenge blog!

I love peonies!

Happy Monday!    Hope you had a good weekend.   I wanted to share this cutie pie Tilda from the new Wedding Collection with you ~ I couldn’t resist her since she’s holding one of my favorite flowers, a peony!    I’ve been hoarding this DP from the Basic Grey porcelain 6×6 paper pad waiting for the perfect image, and thought this was it!

I wanted to keep the embellishments to a minimum and really put the focus on the image and paper.   I had to slap my own hand when I was pulling out the primas!   lol    The sentiment is from PTI.

Thanks for visiting today!   Hope you are able to stop back for a new Copic Creations challenge tomorrow.

Phindy’s Place Challenge ~ Girlie!

It’s Friday!!   Yay.    Time for a new challenge at Phindy’s Place.   This week’s challenge is one that I think everyone who makes cards loves ~ Girlie; which of course means ribbons, bows, flowers, sparkle, frills, etc., so many possibilities.   This adorable little girl image is called Stepping Out Katie.    I just love her cute little pigtails and that adorable look on her face!   Katie has been illustrated by Phindy and is available as a digi image at Phindy’s store.

This fun DP is from the October Afternoon Fly a Kite 8×8 paper pad.  I’ve used Spellbinders Nestabilites Blossom and Ribbon Tag Trio 2 dies for this card, some teal tulle, rhinestone flower stickers and a small yellow prima, all from my stash.

I hope you will join us for this Girlie challenge.   We are making a few changes on how the winners will be chosen for our weekly challenges ~  All the details and some totally adorable DT projects for this challenge can be found at the Phindy’s Place Challenge blog.

Thanks for dropping by today!   Happy weekend everyone.

Vintage Birthday Greetings

Greetings!    Aren’t these two young ladies just lovely?     I feel as though I should be talking quite proper when describing this vintage-feel image and card!     It’s one of the digi images from the brand new I Brake For Digis, called Two Friends.

I’ve colored them in sepia toned Copic markers, listed below.   You know I love the monochrome technique – hope you’re not getting tired of seeing these!

I thought the new Capella papers from Basic Grey would be a perfect match for a vintage feel with this image.   I also used the Spellbinders Nestabilities Label Six and Fancy Tags dies on this card . . . added some Kaiser self-adhesive pearls and a small drop of Stickles in Antique Linen  to the rose in the hand of the girl on the left.

Don’t forget you can still use the code SAVE10MARY for a 10% discount off your entire order at I Brake For Digis!   AND, Della, the super nice owner of both I Brake For Digis and I Brake For Stamps is offering some blog candy ~ a $25.00 Gift Certificate until June 15th.   All the details can be found on the I Brake For Stamps blog.

***I’m going to be taking a few days off this week.  I haven’t said anything prior to this, but we are in the process of preparing our house to list, workers and repair guys coming and going, meeting with realtors, and driving to and from the Madison area to look for a new home.  The realtor is coming tomorrow to take pictures for the listing and I have a TON of things to finish up!   Eeeeeeeeek!        I’m hoping it will be okay with the new owners if I come back to take pictures of my cardz on the mantel of their fireplace!   LOL***

Thanks for stopping in today.  Enjoy your day.
