Halloween in Wonderland

Hello and happy Thursday . . . we’re getting closer and closer to the weekend!   I’ve got a fun card for you today made with some of the new Graphic 45 Halloween papers and an adorable vintage witch from I Brake For Stamps.

She’s called Girl on Pumpkin and is part of an awesome selection of Halloween images available at I Brake For Stamps.   If you haven’t visited the I Brake For Stamps site recently, you’ll be in for a surprise ~ Della has completely redesigned the site, making it so much easier to navigate and find exactly what you’re looking for … and with over 3,000 stamps – you’re sure to find SOMETHING!   🙂

Don’t forget to use coupon code SAVE10MARY for a 10% discount off your entire order!

Lots of glitter on this one!   I don’t often do this abstract/vintage type of card – which seems to be so popular right now, so I thought it would be fun to give it a try!    And,  I found it was actually pretty easy, especially using the new Halloween in Wonderland papers.    Besides, if you do make a mistake, who would know?!   LOL

Don’t forget to take a peek at the awesome new website for I Brake For Stamps ~ I know you’ll LOVE it!

Phindy’s Place Challenge ~ We’re going Green!

Happy Friday!   Our challenge this week at Phindy’s Place  is GOING GREEN ~ which means we’d like you to use the color Green and/or something recycled on your card or project.

I’ve obviously used the color green on my card and thought it would be fun to also make this image called Lula Shopping, carry a canvas bag, as seen in so many stores nowadays.    It certainly doesn’t seem to be her usual style!     I’m not sure if it shows up very well in the photo, but I’ve also color-coordinated the cute little poodle too  . . .   “EVERYONE’s doing it!”

The Go Green print on her canvas bag was computer generated, as well as the sentiment on the side.

I hope you will join us for this challenge . . .  Everyone’s doing it!    🙂     And, be sure to take a peek at the Phindy’s Place Friday Challenge blog to see all the WORKS of ART from the awesome Design Team!

Hope you have a great weekend!

All That Scraps Challenge ~ Fruit!

Happy Wednesday!   Time for a new challenge at All That Scraps.   This week, we’d like to see some fruit on your card or project.   This was a definite first for me!

I decided to go with the adorable new C.C. Designs set called Take a Seat ~ it’s brand new and includes a total of 12 images that are available in either rubber stamps or digi images.    This cutie is Pondering Emma  (with little cherries on her shirt) ~ the chair, photos and lamp are also from the same kit . . . perfect for Emma.

Pondering Emma actually looked a little sad to me, so I thought a cheery (fruity!)  sentiment would be perfect!   This has obviously been computer generated!   lol

I hope you can hop over to the All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge blog to see the always amazing projects from the super talented Design Team ~  I know you’ll be inspired to join us!

It’s another double-post day today ~ we’re hosting our second challenge at 7 Kids College Fund, scheduled for 7:00 AM MT.    Hope you can stop back!

O Christmas Tree ~ O Christmas Tree!!

Many years ago, my DS embossed and framed a beautiful Christmas tree image along with a wonderful matching sentiment – which I still have and display every year for Christmas.   So, I thought I would give it try with this Christmas tree from Inkadinkado!     Unfortunately, all the sparkles just don’t show up very well in the photos.   Here are a few different shots:

And a second version:

The Christmas tree by Inkadinkado was heat embossed with Gold Super Fine Detail EP, then colored with Copics.  I also added some Christmas Red Stickles and gold glitter for the decorations.   Both versions use Graphic 45 DP.

Hope you’re having a great weekend!    Hope to see you tomorrow for House Mouse Monday!   🙂

Noel from Sarah Kay

I can’t believe how many angel cards I have done recently!   I do believe I’ve found a new hobby  …   collecting angel stamps.    🙂    This adorable little angel is from Stampavie by Sarah Kay, 2009 Noel Collection, called Noel Peace.

I used my new Pilot Gold Marker extra fine point paint pen on her halo, wings, star and the bottom of the curtain (from my dear friend America)  and added some Golden Rod Stickles also.

I tried to color the curtain to look like velvet, but red is such a hard color for me to show highlights, so I added some red velvet ribbon to the bottom of the card hoping it would make it look a little more authentic.    The sentiment is from the Papertrey Ink 2008 Holiday Tag Collection.    The paper is from Graphic 45.  (love  it!)

Thanks for visiting today!     Hope your week is going well.

Copic Creations Challenge ~ Gold

DSC_9151a

Hello!  Thanks for visiting today.   Time for another Copic Creations Challenge.  This week we are focusing on the color GOLD.   Our awesome sponsor is I Brake for Stamps.  They have an amazing selection of over 3,000 stamps!!    The prize for one lucky participant is TWO full sheets of stamps!   And, if the winner happens to use an IBFS image, Della, the owner, is throwing in an additional sheet!!    Very cool prize.

The CCDT was able to choose an image from I Brake for Stamps for our card this week.   Meet the handsome Mr. Nutcracker

All the DP used on this card is from Graphic 45 – I just love every single piece of paper this company makes!   I used Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Six and Labels Nine for my center shapes, and added some Gold Corduroy Foil paper on the side.   The brads are from American Crafts Elements – they are medium Glitter Brads.  And, finally, the little holly sprig is from Martha Stewart and edged in gold.

You really HAVE to take a look at the GORGEOUS Copic Creations Design Team cards for this challenge!   And, I hope you can join us for a chance to win this awesome prize!

Thanks for stopping by.

I love this sentiment by Mother Teresa ~ It’s part of the awesome new stamp set from Gina K. Designs  designed by my idol  🙂  Asela Hopkins, called Fruitful Harvest.

I love EVERY stamp included with this set!   Asela always designs such beautiful images.     The grapes and leaves were colored with Copics, cut out and mounted with pop-it dots onto the very cool new Spellbinders Nestabilites Label Six  shape.   The dp is from my fav Graphics 45 and I added some 5 mm Self Adhesive Nail Heads also from Gina K’s.  Here’s a closeup of the grapes:

PTI Blog Hop ~ All Things Autumn

bloghoplogo

It’s time for another PTI Blog Hop!    The challenge this month is:

August is the month that Papertrey celebrates all things autumn!  What better way to get inspired for the upcoming season change than each other! Our challenge to you is to create a project inspired by any aspect of fall.  How about texture like fabrics, burlap, courduroy or stitching. Then there is color with hues found in autumn leaves, fall berries and other late season delectables. Patterns or motifs such as leaves, pumpkins, wheat and more.

I used PTI’s new Every Day Button Bits  stamp set for my card ~ What a fun collection of stamps, and SUPER easy to use!  I like that since it takes sooooooooo much time for the Copic colored images I normally like to do.  This was a nice change.

DSC_7557a

The tree trunks were lightly heat embossed with copper DP,  for a bit of a rougher look.  I’ve had the center button forever in my stash, no clue where it came from.  But, as soon as I came across it I thought “autumn”!

DSC_7554a

The DP used is from my fav – Graphic 45!   I love this sentiment, it really is a nice way to look at this season.  Unfortunately, the following season doesn’t compare to summer!!   🙂

Thanks for stopping in today ~ Hope you’re having a good week.

Handpicked, Just for You (II)

Yes, it’s another cutie-patootie from C.C. Designs!   I just LOVE these images for coloring with Copics.  This  Swiss Pixie  Leisel and Her Wheelbarrow  by C.C. Designs Rubber Stamps ~ is now available at 7 Kids College Fund.   Isn’t she just the cutest??!!  … red boots and all, they may be red “pixie” boots, but (in my younger days)  I always wanted a pair of red cowboy boots!   🙂

DSC_7355a

I also love this color combination – which I have cased from one of my Copic Idols, Cheryl Rowley.  It’s my all-time favorite dp from Graphic 45.  I added some micro buttons in her hair, Star Dust Stickles on her wings, small red brads on both the center of the wheel, of the wheelbarrow, and to attach the sentiment ~ which I thought was perfect for this image   …

Glad you could stop in today – hope you’re having a terrific day!

PTI Blog Hop ~ Using Text

bloghoplogo

Yay!  It’s time for another PTI Blog Hop.   The theme this month is “how you use text in your projects”.

DSC_6748a

I chose PTI’s Quilters Sampler stamps for my card.  I thought the text theme would work well with this sentiment, portraying the many stories that piece together our lives.

The quilt blocks were stamped onto preprinted text paper by Graphic 45.   It’s pretty hard to see the actual text on the blocks in the photos … but, it’s really there!   Each block is colored with Copics, highlighted with Distress vintage photo ink and some Kaiser self-adhesive pearls were added.

 DSC_6757a

The background dp is also from Graphic 45  and is a polka-dotted paper ~ each dot has text on it.

Thanks for stopping in today!   Hope you’re having a great weekend.

Thank you berry much! :)

Just a Friday quickie for you, featuring this Karen Lockhart stamp, Strawberries.   It’s so amazing that these tiny, detailed stamps are just enough to create an entire card.

 DSC_6729a

I have to admit, I did “case” this card from one of my favorite blogs that  I LOVE to stalk  ~  Thinking Inking by Debbie Olson.   Here’s her original card …    Spring Fling Everywhere.    She is such an amazing artist!   Believe me, you’ll get lost for hours when you visit her blog!

The background card stock is embossed with the QuicKutz Stripes Label embossing folder,  the strawberries and bowl were heat-embossed with clear EP,  and Iwas able to sneak in a small piece of some Graphic 45 DP behind the main image!  🙂  Once in awhile, I like to make a very simple card, and let the image speak for itself  ~ I think ALL the Lockhart stamps allow this to happen.

And, if I may say ….     T-G-I-F!!!       It’s been another lonnnnnnnggggg  week!   I’m soooooo looking forward to the weekend.     Hope you have a GREAT Friday!

P.S.   If you have a minute …  please take a peak at my Surfing Edwin card from the new Lazy Summer Days collection on my Magnolia  blog.

Edited to add:   The SOOOO very nice Danni of  Danni’s Dreams  pointed out that my card today would work great for her Flutter By Wednesday Challenge  this week, which is to use little or no DP on your card.  Be sure to check out this challenge here!    (Thanks Danni!)

Well, this little guy certainly seems to be enjoying himself among the poppies and butterflies!  Don’t you wish you could spend some time like this?    🙂

 DSC_6666a

I thought the sentiment from PTI was perfect for this little Penny Black hedgie stamp called Poppy Fields.  I cut out a second set of butterflies and attached them on top of the original image for a little bit of a dimensional look.  The ribbon is rather frilly in an attempt to try to match the deckled rectangle Spellbinders Nestability die used, but, I’m just not too sure about it!  The DP used is by Graphics 45 – my fav.

Thanks for your visit today ~ I truly  appreciate it!

Ohhhhh….and guess who got happy mail from Sweden yesterday????      😀       Yay!!

Yes, it’s another from my secret stash of Sugar Nellie Gorjuss Girls!   I truly love these images!   I also used some paper from my new-favorite company, Graphic 45 ~ their colors and patterns are so bright and vibrant ~ I’ve been collecting them wherever I can find them!   I do like the combination of blue and yellow too!

Gojuss Girl

I’ve added some metal brads from Spare Parts and the square shapes behind the main image are cut with my Spellbinders Nestabilities dies.  The yellow lace is from Making Memories and the blue ribbon is from my stash ~ the dots were originally white, until I colored them yellow with my Copic marker!  🙂    The sentiment is computer generated.
