Make It Colourful ~ Blue & Purple

Happy weekend!   As you can see, I really take these Make It Colourful  challenges quite seriously!   LOL   How’s that for some major blue and purple?

I thought these two images ~ Rainbow Meadow background  from Make It Crafty  and Princess Pony from Karen’s Doodles  (today’s sponsor at MIC) would be so fun together for a wall hanging in a little girl’s room!   Purple is certainly a hot color in the pre-teen age group!   (for me too!)

I’ve re-used an old white 12×12 frame for this and added some glittered cardstock and patterned paper.   The sentiment is computer generated from my all-time favorite movie The Wizard of Oz.   I think the blue and purple little girl and pony are quite surprised to see a matching rainbow ~ a dream come true!    hehehe

The flowers in the foreground have been added with Smooch paint (my fav!) in moonlight, gold lame and green apple.  It really helps to make this type of  smaller more detailed items stand out against your Copic coloring.  I tend to just color right over these details and then use the Smooch paints afterwards.

I also added a little Grape Glitz Stickles to her dress.   Speaking of Stickles … have you seen the NINE brand new Stickles colors??!    Very cool colors, and IN STOCK now at 7 Kids College Fund!

One can never have too many Stickles!  🙂

Make It Colourful ~ Monochrome

Happy weekend!    We’ve got a new challenge at Zoe’s awesome Make It Colourful challenge blog today!    This week we’re featuring  some of my favorite techniques –  Vintage Photo – Monochrome, Black/White, Sepia – your choice.

I’ve combined the Lover’s Pavilion  from Make It Crafty with Tiddly Inks’   As You Wish  couple ~ I think they were made for each other.

How’s that for a romantic card for either Valentine’s Day, an anniversary celebration or even a wedding!?   I think the Lover’s Pavilion would work really well with so many images since it’s a digi and can be scaled to match any character you choose!

Hope you can stop over at the Make It Colourful challenge blog  to take a peek at the awesome Monochrome projects from the Design Team ~ you’ll also find lots of helpful tips for this technique from Zoe.

Thanks for stopping by today.   Hope you have a great weekend!

Make It Colourful ~ New Challenge Blog!

Happy weekend everyone.   Hope you’re having a great one!!

My dear sweet friend Zoe, the owner of the awesome online store – Make It Crafty, has started a new challenge blog called MAKE IT COLOURFUL.

Tilda & Edwin are so happy about it  ~  they’re dancing!!  🙂

The Make it Colourful challenge blog will be featuring ideas using all different types of coloring mediums ~ markers, watercolour, pencil ~ with a new challenge every Saturday.

For those of you who know me, you know I LOVE to color!    It’s truly my saving grace during life’s ups and downs.   When Zoe asked if I would be interested in being on the DT, I was SO very flattered and excited …  but a little hesitant due to my constant lack of time – which I know so many of you can relate to!    Soooooo, we’ve settled on my being a Guest Designer for this fun new challenge!

The challenge this week is to use WARM or COLD colors.   I’ve combined one of Zoe’s newest digi images ~Tree of Love  with the new Tilda & Edwin Dancing stamp from Magnolia  (still in stock at 7 Kids!).   So many of the Make It Crafty  images work really well with these popular character stamps.

Yep, I had fun again!   I decided to do an easel card and have Tilda & Edwin dancing on the bottom section of the card.   I used a small piece of Grafix clear film (acetate) folded in half to attach them.

It seemed to me that the leaves on the Tree of Love image from Make It Crafty looked like hearts.    So I colored them to match my DP and added the “carved”  initials T & E to the tree!

And finally, here’s a closeup view of the chipboard sentiment sticker from We R Memory Keepers.

I hope you can pop over to the new Make It Colourful challenge blog.   You won’t be disappointed!    The DT has come up with some amazing WARM and COLD projects for your inspiration!

Thanks for visiting – hope you’re having a great weekend!
