Berry Sweet Tilda!

I’ve really been missing coloring Tilda ~ It’s been way too long!    Sooooo, when I found this strawberry DP the other day, I thought it would be a perfect match for this cutie.   This is Sweet Tilda from the Raising the Ceiling collection, along with Fruit Label from the A Little Yummy for Your Tummy collection.

As you can see, I went a little DOTTY crazy  trying to match Tilda’s apron to the strawberries!    I’ve used some Liquid Pearls in White Opal for all the dots.   The sentiment is from an older PTI set called Green Thumb and it seemed to be made for the Fruit Label  . . .

Hope you’re having a good week!    Thanks for visiting.

This adorable little angel is another from Stampavie by Gillian F. Roberts.   All the stamps from this collection are so cute!  This one is called Nativity 3  and it’s in stock and available at 7 Kids College Fund

I added some iridescent frilly string from my stash for her halo, some Crystal Stickles to her wings, and a sparkly snowflake ~  So, I wanted to add some iridescent sparkle to the ribbon, but really wanted to use this blue ribbon that matched the dp from My Mind’s Eye perfectly – So, I combined two ribbons!

I’ve been asked how I do the ribbon treatment when I have two ribbons.   It’s pretty easy, I just run some Permanent Mono Adhesive Dots from Tombow along the center of the darker color ribbon and attach the metallic/iridescent ribbon to it – the two ribbons stay together really well, even during my tugging and pulling to form a bow!    🙂

The sentiment is from the PTI Silent Night set and has been embossed with Super Fine Detail Clear Embossing Powder.

The image was colored with Copics, but unfortunately, I colored it quite awhile ago and CANNOT find my notes!!   It’s definitely time to do some organizing in my crafting area!!

Thanks for stopping by today – Hope you’re having a great week!

PTI Blog Hop ~ All Things Autumn

bloghoplogo

It’s time for another PTI Blog Hop!    The challenge this month is:

August is the month that Papertrey celebrates all things autumn!  What better way to get inspired for the upcoming season change than each other! Our challenge to you is to create a project inspired by any aspect of fall.  How about texture like fabrics, burlap, courduroy or stitching. Then there is color with hues found in autumn leaves, fall berries and other late season delectables. Patterns or motifs such as leaves, pumpkins, wheat and more.

I used PTI’s new Every Day Button Bits  stamp set for my card ~ What a fun collection of stamps, and SUPER easy to use!  I like that since it takes sooooooooo much time for the Copic colored images I normally like to do.  This was a nice change.

DSC_7557a

The tree trunks were lightly heat embossed with copper DP,  for a bit of a rougher look.  I’ve had the center button forever in my stash, no clue where it came from.  But, as soon as I came across it I thought “autumn”!

DSC_7554a

The DP used is from my fav – Graphic 45!   I love this sentiment, it really is a nice way to look at this season.  Unfortunately, the following season doesn’t compare to summer!!   🙂

Thanks for stopping in today ~ Hope you’re having a good week.

PTI Blog Hop ~ Using Text

bloghoplogo

Yay!  It’s time for another PTI Blog Hop.   The theme this month is “how you use text in your projects”.

DSC_6748a

I chose PTI’s Quilters Sampler stamps for my card.  I thought the text theme would work well with this sentiment, portraying the many stories that piece together our lives.

The quilt blocks were stamped onto preprinted text paper by Graphic 45.   It’s pretty hard to see the actual text on the blocks in the photos … but, it’s really there!   Each block is colored with Copics, highlighted with Distress vintage photo ink and some Kaiser self-adhesive pearls were added.

 DSC_6757a

The background dp is also from Graphic 45  and is a polka-dotted paper ~ each dot has text on it.

It’s PTI Blog Hop time!

 bloghoplogo

Yay!   I am FINALLY able to participate in this months Papertrey Ink Blog Hop.  I love to visit everyone’s blogs to see the awesome designs all the very talented participants create.   Here’s the scoop for this month, directly from Nicole Heady of PTI:

“This month your challenge is to get inspired by the lazy days of summer and reflect your inspiration in a project of your choice!  Whether it be the colors in your favorite summer treats, the pattern on your bathing suit & beach towel or even the texture of the sand between your toes, use any or all of these things as a springboard for your design.  Please be sure to share an image found online, in a magazine or a photo you have taken yourself that communicates your point of inspiration within the body of your blog post!”

My VERY favorite part of summer is FLOWERS … in every size, shape and color of the rainbow!   I especially love homes with window boxes, they just add so much beauty and character to a house.  I’ve gathered several photographs from the internet of various gorgeous window flower boxes used for my inspiration.

One thing is certainly for sure ~  these House Mouse guys sure do know how to enjoy life!   Floating along with a flower to shade you or lying on a branch of lilacs … I could sooooo be there!!   This little cutie is Mr. Maxwell, the stamp is called In a Nutshell.  Colored this one with Tim Holtz Distress Inks.  I love these inks!!    I hope you have had a chance to see all the colors carried by 7 Kids College Fund.

The sentiment is from PTI‘s new Wishing You set.  He seemed pretty peaceful to me ~ not a care in the world!

Here’s my card, using these colors and the Dresden Plate stamp from PTI’s Quilter’s Sampler Additions set.   The flowers have been colored with Copic markers G07 & R32.  (Yep, only TWO this time!)   🙂  I added lots of green metalic brads and used MS daisy border punch for the trim.  The sentiment is computer generated.

*Please note:  I did not use actual PTI papers on this card – I used the closest I could find to match these colors.

Guess How Much I Love You…Again! :)

Big Nutbrown Hare & Little Nut Brown Hare

Big Nutbrown Hare & Little Nut Brown Hare

Yay!  I finally had an opportunity to color these guys.  A few weeks ago I had mentioned that one of my favorite books to read (to my grand-kids) is Guess How Much I Love You, by Sam McBratney.

My DD, Jessica (who was formerly known as Jessica G. before she was married, and swears she comments every day on my cardz!!  I think the REAL Jessica G. had better set her straight!)  🙂    Anyway, my DD found this stamp from a company called Stamps Happen.  It was a perfect match to the characters in the book.  The sentiment, from PTI, is also from this book.

The Inspiration Challenge today at SCS was Pottery Barn Teen http://www.pbteen.com/index.cfm?cm%5Ftype=gnav.  They have some very cool stuff!  Almost makes me wish my kids were teens again….NOT!  🙂

I used this bedding set as my inspiration:

I really liked this set and am by no means a teen!

Here’s my card:

I used the flowers and leaf vine from PTI’s Beautiful Blooms and sentiment from Flower Garden Sentiments.

Hope you’re having a great weekend…don’t forget the HM Challenge on Monday!  🙂

My turn at the PTI Mid-Week Hostess Challenge

Yep!  You guessed it….MORE quilt cardz!  🙂

The challenge I’ve come up with this time is to use ANY of the PTI Quilt stamps to make a Valentine’s Day card!

I apologize ahead of time for the length of this post….I got carried away again and made THREE cardz!

Here’ my first (and favorite) sample:

Love you FOREVER

Love you FOREVER

I really had fun with this one!  The hearts and sentiment are from the PTI Heart Prints set.  The outline image stamped on the off white paper is the large blank quilt square from the Quilter’s Sampler Additions.  The background DP is from the AWESOME new Bittersweet collection by Basic Grey.

Heart Prints

I was pretty excited to have the ribbon in my stash….it seemed to match perfectly!  (it’s from Michael’s by American Crafts premium ribbon)

matching ribbon

For my second card I used the Log Cabin quilt square stamp from the Quilter’s Sampler set and the sentiment is from the Quilter’s Sampler Sentiments …all from PTI

Heart Quilt

Heart Quilt

The DP is by the Paper Patch and has tiny little white hearts on it, if you squint, you might be able to see them!  🙂

Log Cabin Squares

Log Cabin Squares

The stick-on heart attached to the sentiment was orignally pink, but was colored with a red Copic to match the DP;  the white ribbon as well was colored with a black Copic ~ which worked out really well.  (having a streak of luck with ribbons today… until the next card!)

warm quilt

warm quilt

For the third card, I wanted to make something a little simpler….I used the heart quilt square stamp from Quilter’s Sampler Additions, colored with Copics and mounted with dimensionals.  I also used the Swiss Dots CB for the white cs background and actually had a dotted CB frame folder that fit perfectly around the larger blank quilt stamp.  The sentiment is computer generated.

Guess How Much I Love you

Guess how much I love you

Guess how much I love you

Since my grandchildren have been born, one of my MOST favorite books is Guess How Much I Love You by Sam McBratney http://search.barnesandnoble.com/Guess-How-Much-I-Love-You/Sam-McBratney/e/9780763600136;  I even have my very own copy (given to me by my daughter) in the “literal” hard copy ~ board book type!  🙂    The book is all about Big Nutbrown Hare and Little Nutbrown Hare and who loves the other more.   If you haven’t read it yet, I highly recommend it!

forever and ever

forever and ever

PTI used one of the quotes from this book in their Out on a Limb Sentiments stamp set; I, of course, had to have it!  I’ve been searching for a rabbit stamp to match the book for a long time ~ with no luck.  If you by chance know of one, PLEASE let me know.  🙂

Today’s Mid-week Challenge at the PTI forum led by Tracy was to use the colors Sweet Bliss, Aqua Mist, Ocean Tides and Berry Sorbet http://www.papertreyink.com/pm_paper.html on a card; An extra part to the challenge was to only use a sentiment stamp.   This was my submission.   If you would like to play along, here’s the link http://forum.papertreyink.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=3728

I’ve tried to put away the swirl stamp from the PTI Silent Night set until next winter, but have finally decided ~ it’s one of those “go to” stamps that I use way too much!   The background dp is from the Basic Grey two scoops 6×6 pad and I used the Spellbinders Nestabilities labels dies to cut the shapes.   Please let me know if you are aware of ANY rabbit stamps that look like either Big or Little Nutbrown Hare!   🙂

Cake Nouveau!

Wow, the Inspiration Challenge at SCS today was from a website called Cake Nouveau, http://cakenouveau.com/cakes.html – that features some truly amazing cakes!!  I chose the second cake on the first page named Afternoon with Frederick.

Afternoon with Frederick

Afternoon with Frederick

The card was sooo easy, especially compared with how much work must have been put into the cake!!  I was just blown away by some of these cakes – true works of art!   You HAVE to take a look http://cakenouveau.com/cakes.html

Hope you’re having a great weekend!  Thanks for stopping by.  🙂
