All That Scraps ~ A Sketch

Helloooo out there!    Hopefully, some of you still remember me!     Sorry for the lack of posts, but we have sooooooooooo much to get done before our big move on March 21st!     Thank you ALL for your congrats on our sale/purchase — I really appreciate it.

Smiley from millan.net

This will actually be my last post for awhile for the All That Scraps Wednesday challenge blog  …  at least until some time in April when I hope to be a little more sane!   (knock on wood)

Our challenge this week is an AWESOME sketch designed by the equally AWESOME Rachel Schneider of the ATS Design Team:

I’ve used one of the newest cuties, released this month at All That Scraps, C.C. Designs ~ Spring Kiki La Rue.

Please be sure to take a peek at all the cards from the All That Scraps challenge DT using Rachel’s sketch – and be sure to give it a try … you’ll like it!

So, I hope to be posting a couple of cards during the next month  …   probably only for the Copic Creations challenge — I just couldn’t give that one up!    I hope you’ll stop back for a peek at those on the 1st and 15th.

Thanks for visiting today – hope you’re having a good week.

All That Scraps ~ Let it Snow

Time for a new challenge over at the All That Scraps challenge blog!    This week we’re featuring one of my least favorite topics ~ LET IT SNOW.     I’m so ready for winter to be over, so I was really dragging my butt on doing this card … until I found this fun, BRIGHT snowflake paper in my stash!    And, of course, coloring this cutie from C.C. Designs called  Teddy Emma, was LOTS of fun!

I hope you have a chance to pop over to the All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge blog to see all the SNOWY creations from the DT!

Thanks for stopping in and have a great day!

All That Scraps Challenge ~ New Year’s Ideas (Rose Bowl!)

Rose Bowl Princess!

Welcome back!   I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!    I, personally, am relieved it’s over!   It just gets a bit overwhelming trying to juggle it all during this crazy season.   I’m really looking forward to getting “back to normal” — whatever that is!

Our challenge today at All That Scraps is New Year’s Ideas –  party stuff, favors, decorations, etc.

Soooooooooooo, did you know that our UW-Madison Badger football team is in the Rose Bowl this year??!!

And, since the Rose Bowl is held on New Year’s Day, I thought this would be a PERFECT New Year’s idea!

Go Badgers!!     They are the predicted underdog, but all the excitement leading up to the game has certainly brought our college town to life.     I’ve used Rose Emma from the C.C. Designs Take a Seat collection for this, along with lots of paper roses on top of a Spellbinders beaded circle die cut.    The sentiments are computer generated and I found this team mascot Bucky Badger on the internet!

I did do another project for our New Year’s Ideas challenge – unfortunately, I made the numbers a bit too large for the little C.C.Designs Sugarplums party guys ~  Balloon Trevor & Emma, and Party Emma, so I wasn’t too happy with how this one turned out.

Here are some quick closeups of these cuties:

I hope you have a minute to pop over to the All That Scraps Challenge blog to take a peek at the always inspiring projects from the design team ladies.      Thanks for stopping in today!

    Copic Creations Challenge:

Happy Wednesday and December 1st!!   Can you believe it?!    Time is flying by.    We have a great challenge this week at the Copic Creations blog . . . one that I think many struggle with ~ LIGHT SOURCE – where light hits and creates shadows.    And, we have an awesome sponsor, one of my most favorite!   Whimsy Stamps ~ with a couple of awesome prizes!!    Better check it out HERE.

I totally fell in LOVE with this adorable image illustrated by the awesome Crissy Armstrong for Whimsy.   It’s called Touched by Love and is a brand new image being released today!    I added the star, hoping to make my “light source” a little more pronounced.

I hope you can pop over to the Copic Creations Challenge blog to take a peek at the other Whimsy images showcased by the always amazing Copic Creations Design Team!    They’re the best!!

    All That Scraps Challenge:

Nope, our challenge this week is NOT sparkle!   But boy did I go a little overboard with the sparkle on this one!!   Eeek.   The actual challenge this week at All That Scraps is SNOWFLAKES.     This gorgeous image from the awesome Amy Young is another brand new release for the month of December at All That Scraps.

Be sure to pop over to the All That Scraps Challenge blog to see all the SNOWFLAKE samples from the DT – I know you’ll be inspired to join us!

All That Scraps Challenge ~ Gift Card Holders

Happy Wednesday!    Our challenge at the All That Scraps Wednesday blog is Gift Card Holders.   Just in time for the holidays.   I think gift cards and cash are beginning to be the safest and most popular gifts.

Lesa from ATS sent us a link to this awesome tutorial for a very cool and SUPER easy gift card holder found HERE.

Note, in this tutorial, the author uses a Word Window punch, which I don’t have.   I’ve substituted a Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Four  (second largest die)  for my holder ~ it was a perfect fit!    Here’s an inside shot:

As I said – SUPER fast and easy!    This adorable new little angel is from C.C. Designs Sugarplums collection ~ Christmas Angel.   In my opinion, she seemed to be perfect in gold!   So, I used some gold EP and colored her with Copics.    (Black EP does NOT work with Copics – it tends to bleed.   But I didn’t have any problems with the gold.)

If you’d like some inspiration to join us for this challenge, be sure to check out the awesome Gift Card Holders from the always amazing All That Scraps Design Team.

    7 Kids College Fund Challenge

Happy Wednesday!   Time for a new challenge at 7 Kids College Fund ~ Thank you cardz, brought to us by the extremely nice and VERY creative Julie of the Design Team.     This little cutie is from Magnolia, of course!   She’s the  sitting bridesmaid  from the Wedding Collection.

I’ve used my very last sheet of this (my all-time favorite) piece of DP from the Basic Grey porcelain collection … so sad!   This coming from a true craft product horder.    lol

I’m trying to keep this short since I have two cardz to share, but HAD to let you know what the AMAZING prize is for one very lucky participant of this challenge  . . .

A $75.00 Gift Certificate to 7 Kids College Fund

What perfect timing just before Christmas!

The reason for the LARGE prize is that Tab, the owner of 7KCF, wanted to thank everyone for their patience, understanding and well wishes after her 18 year old son was severely injured in a motorcycle accident on Halloween!   Fortunately, he’s recovering and doing much better . . . you can find the details HERE.

So, with such an easy challenge, you have NO reason NOT to join us!   Be sure to take a peek at the awesome Thank You cardz from the Design Team.

    All That Scraps Challenge

Yay!   The totally amazing Amy Young has done it again!   She’s created four new fantastic images just in time for our new challenge this week at All That Scraps ~ Happy Birthday.     This adorable image is called Darby Cupcake.  (unfortunately, they are so new that I don’t find these stamps in the store yet.   I’ll be sure to update you when they are added.)

Can you tell I really enjoyed coloring this one?    I thought the green hair was perfect for this color combo.

Yes, I like dots!   I get it from my dear friend Sue Kment  – I hope she likes this one!    Please excuse the big glop of Stickles on the lightning bug’s light rays.   You know what they say – haste makes waste!   So true.    I’m being buried alive in Magnolia projects for the next Magnolia Ink!   Our deadline is Thursday, so I’m hoping to take a nice rest after that!   🙂

Be sure to pop over to the All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge blog to see all the wonderful creations from the always amazing DT AND the other three new images from Amy Young.

Phew, thanks for dropping by today.

All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge ~ Last Minute Halloween Packaging

Happy Wednesday!   Another double challenge day ~ Please “page down” to the end of this post for today’s 7 Kids College Fund Challenge blog card and info.

Our challenge this week at All That Scraps is Last minute Halloween packaging  (bags, fun boxes, etc.).    For my projects, I’ve used this SUPER easy Treat Bag Cover tutorial from Splitcoast Stampers, which is so nice to use some of those larger scraps of DP we all seem to keep!

I’ve got a few closeup photos of each treat bag.   I’ve used digi images for these bags, since they are rather small  — gee, I seem to really use these small palettes each week!      This one is made using the new C. C. Designs Swiss Pixies Halloween Hansel, dressed as a bat/vampire.   I’ve paired him up with some Basic Grey eerie DP  (in stock at 7KCF)  . . .

Next is another new image from C.C. Designs, Swiss Pixies Halloween Birgitta.   I’ve used some Halloween embossed spider web paper from SEI called Eerie Alley.

And, the last treat bag is made with Reminisce DP – Trick or Treat All Wrapped Up, using an image from last year’s C.C. Designs Halloween collection – Sugarplums Mummy Trevor digi image.

If you’re interested in seeing  the treats in my cello bags  …   two mini Butterfinger (my FAV) candy bars!   Here’s a quick sideview.

So, be sure to pop over to the All That Scraps Challenge blog to take a peek at the all the awesome ideas for your “last minute Halloween packaging” ideas!   I know you’ll be inspired to join us!

7 Kids College Fund Challenge ~ Happy Birthday!

I was excited when I saw this challenge picked by the so very nice  Ann Vento of the 7 Kids College Fund Design Team.   It seems no matter how many cardz I end up making for various challenges, there never seem to be enough Happy Birthday cardz ~ our challenge this week!

I’ve used one of my VERY favorite stamp brands for this card ~ Penny Black Slapstick  (they seriously give the best impression each and every time, I love em!)   This one is called Hedgehog Birthday, featuring the famous cutie pie heggie from Penny Black!

I’ve paired this adorable image with papers from one of my favorite Basic Grey collections – Olivia!   Plus, it gives me the opportunity to use this yummy matching ribbon again!

I hope you have time to stop over at the 7 Kids College Fund challenge blog to see the gorgeous Happy Birthday cardz from the very talented Design Team.   All the details on this challenge can be found there also.

    7 Kids College Fund Challenge

Awwww … how adorable is he?!    Happy Wednesday!   Time again for another double-header Wednesday actually.

Our new challenge today for the 7 Kids College Fund Challenge blog  is a fun and super easy one – Flowers & Layers.    And, the awesome prize is $20.00 worth of the brand new Zva Creative mini rose blossoms in 1/2″ to 1 3/8″ in size, as well as rose buds ~ available in lots of colors including red, pink, peach, lime, olive, lavender, white, cream, ginger, and blue.

Here’s my card using the Thanks a Bunch Popcorn Bear from Crafters Companion . . .

I hope you can join us for this challenge, and be sure to check out the awesome samples from the Design Team.

    All That Scraps Challenge

And, of course, Wednesday also means a new challenge at All That Scraps.   This week Lesa challenged us to creat some type of Fall decoration.    This was my first attempt at rubber stamping on a candle!    It’s definitely much easier than you would think!    I followed this very helpful tutorial over at Splitcoast Stampers.   And, believe me – if I can do it … anyone can!    What a great idea with the upcoming holidays . . . hmmmmmmmm.

I used the C.C. Designs Swiss Pixies Fall Scene, colored with Copics for my candle.   Unfortunately, when coloring on the tissue paper, it’s a little hard to get much shading since the ink really soaks in quickly.

I also wanted to share the super simple little “doily”  for under the candle that I made using the largest die from the new Spellbinders Nestabilities  Beaded Circles Decorative Elements  dies . . .

It turned out to be the perfect size to match my candle!   I was thinking some silver or gold metallic cardstock would be pretty for a Christmas candle, or some wool felt would be nice too.    Eeeek … guess Santa will be busy making LOTS of candles this year!   LOL

So be sure to hop over to the All That Scraps Challenge blog  to see some awesome Fall themed decorations from the always amazing Design Team.

    Thanks for visiting today!

Double Header Wednesday ~ 2 Challenges

    All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge

Happy Wednesday!   I’ll try to keep this short since I’m combining two challenges today.    This first ADORABLE image, Oleander,  is new for September and designed by the awesome Amy Young for C.C. Designs Sweet November.   As soon as I saw her, I knew I NEEDED to have her  ~   I just love her eyes …

Our challenge this week at the All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge blog is Clear Cards.    And, as you can see  –  I totally blew it!!    In my mind I was thinking acetate cards, not necessarily clear!   I used a Spelllbinders Impressabilities as a stencil and sponged white ink onto the top layer of acetate and then attached a piece of DP to the inside – making my card NOT clear!!    I about cried when I realized what I had done, but Lesa, the VERY sweet DT coordinator at ATS, said it was okay!    Phew!

So, be sure to take a peek at the TRUE clear cards from the SUPER talented DT at the All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge blog.

    7 Kids College Fund Challenge

We’ve got another awesome Sketch Challenge for you this week at 7 Kids College Fund Challenge blog.   It was designed by Lisa Andrews of the DT . . .

Lisa also asked that we “double up” our cards for this sketch  (use two stamps) . . .

I thought this scary pirate would keep the recipient from daring to open the card before Halloween!  🙂    Hope you can also pop over to the 7 Kids College Fund Challenge blog to see all the cards from the awesome design team.

And, last but not least, here’s a photo right after delivery of my brand new grandaughter – Sophie, born Monday morning!

Our challenge this week at All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge is LACE.    Adding lace to cardz is definitely a very popular trend right now.  I’ve used the adorable C.C. Designs digi Swiss Pixies Gretel for my card.

My lace is actually a sticker!   It’s by Jolee’s Boutique ~ embroidered 3D sticker border.   Super easy!!    So, be sure to pop over to the All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge blog to take a peek at all the awesome lacey cardz from the fabulous Design Team!    I know you’ll be inspired to join us for this challenge.

All That Scraps Challenge ~ Crinkled Ribbon

Happy Wednesday!   Sorry for the lack of posts the past few days, we’re working on the next Magnolia Ink magazine . . . the Christmas edition ~ it’s sooo hard to be working on Christmas projects when it’s 90 degrees outside!   🙂

Our challenge today at the All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge blog is to add some Crinkled Ribbon to your card or project.   This type of ribbon seems to be all the rage right now, especially on vintage and shabby chic projects.

I googled Crinkled Ribbon and found lots of tutorials on how to dye and “crinkle” ribbon yourself.   Apparently, it works best with a rayon material ribbon generally used for seam binding.    Here’s one link if you’d like to take a peek  Crinkled Ribbon Tutorial.    But NO, I did NOT make my own … I cheated and used some rose ribbon from American Crafts that I HAD to have awhile ago, but hadn’t used yet!!      (Yes, I think the term “hoarder” is appropriate here!)

For my card, I’ve used the adorable Rose Emma from the Take a Seat collection from C.C. Designs.   She’s actually sitting on a flourish(ey) stamped image from the Tim Holtz  Stampers Anonymous Nature’s Discovery set .

So, I hope you can join us for this challenge ~  all the details can be found on the All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge blog . . . while you’re there, I know you’ll be SUPER inspired by the always amazing projects from the Design Team!

Thanks for stopping by today.   I hope you’re having a good week!

All That Scraps Challenge ~ Fruit!

Happy Wednesday!   Time for a new challenge at All That Scraps.   This week, we’d like to see some fruit on your card or project.   This was a definite first for me!

I decided to go with the adorable new C.C. Designs set called Take a Seat ~ it’s brand new and includes a total of 12 images that are available in either rubber stamps or digi images.    This cutie is Pondering Emma  (with little cherries on her shirt) ~ the chair, photos and lamp are also from the same kit . . . perfect for Emma.

Pondering Emma actually looked a little sad to me, so I thought a cheery (fruity!)  sentiment would be perfect!   This has obviously been computer generated!   lol

I hope you can hop over to the All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge blog to see the always amazing projects from the super talented Design Team ~  I know you’ll be inspired to join us!

It’s another double-post day today ~ we’re hosting our second challenge at 7 Kids College Fund, scheduled for 7:00 AM MT.    Hope you can stop back!

All That Scraps Challenge ~ Die Cuts

Yep, it’s Wednesday already!   And that means it’s time for a new challenge at All That Scraps.   This week, we are using Die Cuts.   I’ve used Tim Holtz’ elegant flourishes die cuts on my card.   This cute little witch is from the C.C. Designs August Swiss Pixies release, called Halloween Birgitta.

All of the die cuts and the spider webs on Birgitta have been heat embossed with LOTS of black opal embossing powder . . . even the little spider attached to her hat!     Let’s just say I’m still cleaning up black opal EP from my work area!   LOL    I was also excited to have some of these cool spider brads from Making Memories left over from last year  (lower right corner).

The flower was cut with an older Cuttlebug flower die … covered with EP and a rhinestone attached to the middle.   The sentiment and spider web were preprinted on the My Mind’s Eye DP.

Sooooooooo, I hope you have time to hop over to the All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge blog to take a peek at the awesome Die Cut creations from the very talented Design Team.    You will also find all the details on how to join us for this fun challenge and be eligible for a chance to win this week’s prize!
