Copic Creations Challenge ~ Coloring “Other” Surfaces

Happy May Day!   I can’t believe how quickly this year is flying by!    It’s time for a new Copic Creations Challenge.   This week was a tough one – Coloring other surfaces, like fabric, chipboard, vellum, plastic, wood, etc.   As you can see above, I’ve stamped and colored this cloth baby bib.      My daughter is pregnant and due in July with her THIRD daughter!  So I thought it would be fun to give her this.    Hopefully, the baby won’t be late!

I also stamped and colored some kitchen towels using one of my favorite stamps by one of my favorite artists – Asela Hopkins, an amazing artist from Gina K Designs AND a member of the Copic Creations Design Team!   The stamp set is called  Fruitful Harvest.

Here’s a quick closeup of the purple grape towel . . .

I must say they definitely look much better IRL!    Photographing white towels just was not working too well!

We have LOTS of helpful tutorials to guide you in whatever medium you choose to color on.    Our sponsor for this challenge is Copic Markers!!   AND, the prize is a 12-piece set of Copics!!    Pretty cool.    So, I hope you can give this technique a try and join us.   Be sure to stop over at the Copic Creations Challenge blog to see all the amazing samples from the VERY talented DT!    You won’t be disappointed.

Copics Used:   (Grape vines)  V05, 06, 09, 91, 93;  YG01, 25, 93, 95, 97;  G20, 21, 24, 40;    (Bib)  RV000, 00, 02; R30;  Y11, 21;  E00, 01;  W0

Copic Creations Challenge – Feather Blending

February 1st ~   We’re definitely getting CLOSER to seeing tulips!     But, today it’s time for another Copic Creations Challenge.   Our challenge was to use Feather Blending with Copic markers.   We’ve included links to some great tutorials to help with this technique.   I really love feather blending, but had such a hard time doing it with this small of an image.   So the main feather blending is done on the tulips.

To be very honest with you, the whole red and turquoise theme for this card started with that little tulip ribbon!    I’ve had it in my stash forever and really thought it would work well will this stamp.   The image is from a new Victoria Case collection recently released at Susana Custom Art and Card Design, our sponsor for this challenge.    Each DT member was given an image from the Aurora Collection for their card.   The sentiment for my card was computer generated.

I hope you can take a peek at all the adorable little pixies over at the CC blog.   While you’re there, be sure to check out the awesome prize package being awarded to one lucky participant!

I was super excited because one of my all time favorite Copic masters, Linda Heavens, was able to join us for this challenge!    You really NEED to stop by her blog to see some of her amazing “works of art”!

Thanks for stopping by today – Next up is House Mouse Monday!!     😀

Copic Creations Challenge ~ Red Hair

Aren’t they just the cutest little skaters ever?!!!     🙂    This is Tilda and Edwin on Ice  from the Magnolia New Years Collection.

I’ve colored these cuties with my Copic markers for the Copic Creations Challenge of RED hair.    I love to color Tilda and Edwin with red hair ~  I’ve put together a tutorial on MyMagnolia blog showing the specific Copic colors I generally use, if you are interested.

The paper used for this card is by SEI and called Winter Song – flurry kisses.  I added some die cut snowflakes, embellished with Stickles in Stardust … my favorite!

I hope you can join us for this challenge ~ all the details can be found here.   One lucky winner will receive a $35.00 Gift Certificate to 7 Kids College Fund!   Be sure to check out all the awesome red-haired cards at the Copic Creations Red Hair challenge

Copic Creations Challenge ~ Pumpkins

Hello, and Happy October 1st to you!    Hard to believe, but it’s time for ANOTHER Copic Creations Challenge!   Our challenge is Coloring Pumpkins – which works pretty well for October 1st!   😀    All That Scraps is sponsoring our challenge and each DT member rec’d an adorable C.C. Designs digi image for their card.  You can find all the details on how to join us for this challenge, along with some awesome tutorials on coloring pumpkins AND, the  always awesome DT card samples to get you inspired – HERE.

For my card, I used Clown Trevor, by C.C. Designs.   Everytime I see him I think he is sad  😦    ….    the frown, though, is actually the handle for his little pumpkin candy holder.   Can you even imagine how many of these orange plastic pumpkin candy holders there are in the world today??!!   🙂

The dps used are scraps from my stash.  The sentiment, which was stamped in Distress dusty concord ink and traced with a purple glitter pen, is from Stampabilities.  Trevor has been colored with Copics, cut out and mounted on the a circle shape.   Pretty easy.   I did add some distress ink highlighting around the image in spiced marmalade and dusty concord.

Thanks for stopping by today!    Hope you can join us in our PUMPKIN challenge.

Copic Creations Challenge No. 11 ~ Favorite Color Combinations

Eskimo Kisses!

Hard to believe it’s September 1st, and time for another Copic Creations challenge  ~ Favorite Copic Color Combinations.    What a fun challenge!   And, only because it’s being sponsored by Mo’s Digital Pencil!   If you haven’t seen Mo’s designs, you HAVE to check them out.   Every drawing she does works so amazingly well with Copic markers.     Mo supplied our choice of image from her store for this challenge ~   I chose Siku & Shiya  ~  I fell in love at first sight!   🙂

I added a little  Smooch paint in Moonlight  for the look of snow and used My Mind’s Eye Signature Christmas Holiday Glitter Book DP since it included two of my favorite Copic Color combinations – the E40s and BG colors.   I tried to make the card itself a little less cluttered than normal to really highlight the image.

I just think these two little ones  are soooooooooooo cute!   And, of course, I didn’t need to think very hard to come up with a sentiment   …

Be sure to stop over at the CC blog to see some of the truly amazing Copic creations by my friends on the CCDT!    I really hope you are able to join us for this challenge.  All the details can be found here.

6 260_1

It’s our 7th challeng over at the Copics Creations blog!!  The challenge this week is Copic marker coloring of Brunette Hair.

I’m totally in love with this image ~  thanks to the amazingly talented Jami Bova!   I think she has started a new trend here.   Awhile ago, Jami did this GORGEOUS card  using another lineart drawing by the same artist of this image ~ Princess Elemmiriel  of  deviant.   The most amazing part is that these images are FREE to download!

Here’s my card using Princess Elemmiriel’s lineart image called Lady Rose Dragon.

Our awesome sponsor for this challenge is Diana Crick of Scor-Pal.   One lucky participant will win a Scor-Pal of their very own!  Soooooo cool.   🙂

To me the best part of coloring this image is the eyes!   They are drawn to look so realistic, you can’t possibly go wrong when coloring these with your Copic markers.  Here’s a closeup of Lady Rose’s green eyes:

Copics Creations Challenge ~ Wood

It’s hard to believe it’s the middle of June already!!   Why do the summer months go by so much quicker than the winter months?   The 15th of the month means ANOTHER Copic Creations’ challenge.  Our challenge this time is coloring WOOD.

My secret garden

My secret garden

I’ve always loved books and movies that portray “secret gardens”….they always seem so magical!   So, when I found this Flower Soft stamp at my LSS calledThe Gate ~ I knew I HAD to have it.   The stamp set comes in separate pieces for EACH item shown, so you have lots of options and variety in creating a garden gate scene.   As a matter of fact, do you know what the three little birds are watching?!   🙂

Mr. Frog

Mr. Frog

I added lots of my favorite embellishment to this card ~  Flower Soft,  in Violet, Heather, Fuchsia, Bright Pink & Sunshine Yellow.   I did control myself by not adding EVERY color available!   🙂

(Notice her red sparkly “Dorothy” shoes??!!)

Have I mentioned how much I love Magnolia images?    Our challenge this week for the Copic Creations Blog  is Blonde Hair and, it’s being sponsored by Magnolia-icious!  How cool is that?!!    They are giving away THREE Magnolia stamps to the lucky winner of this challenge.   Be sure to post your card before May 31st to be eligible!

5 097

The Tilda stamp I used is called Cherry Dress Tilda.   I used a NEW product available at 7 Kids College Fund called ~ **SMOOCH**!    Yep, the name is Smooch!   It comes in a tiny little bottle, containing  just a “smooch” of very cool pearlescent paint!!  I used some Smooch in the color “siren” on Tilda’s red shoes.  It’s very different than the normal glittery paint applicants, it’s actual paint.  The brush works really well for painting the tiniest things, i.e., the little cherries on Tilda’s dress!   I really had fun using this paint, it dries amazingly fast too!!  You really should try it!  Be sure to tell them I sent ya!   🙂

I also hope you will give our challenge a try.  We’ve included some awesome tutorials and drawings featuring “blonde hair”.    [Yes, Sue K., you now have enough markers, it’s time to join us!    AND my DS sister, Nancy, it’s time for you too!]   😀     hee hee!   love ya!
