7 Kids College Fund ~ Gettin’ Sketchy & Beachy!

Happy Wednesday!!    Time for a new challenge at 7 Kids College Fund.    Today our host is Suzanne Dean and she has come up with this awesome Sketch …

And, as you can see from the various beachy items, it’s a BEACH theme too!

I’ve used the Penny Black stamp set called BEACH DAY.     As you can see the set comes with several matching accessory stamps ~ perfect for LOTS of summertime cards!

Since this Basic Grey ~ Lauderdale paper (that I LOVE!)  was a little busy, I decided not to use any of the accessory stamps … for fear of a bit of beach overload!!   🙂

This little cutie definitely makes me in the mood for some much warmer weather!!

Be sure to take a peek at all the BEACHY cards from the 7KCF DT and hopefully you will be inspired to join us for this fun challenge.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Tiddly Inks Challenge ~ Manly Men

Today’s challenge at Tiddly Inks is to create a MASCULINE card or Father’s Day card.

I’ve used the image called SANDY MEMORIES, and thought this computer generated sentiment would make a great Father’s Day card …

A couple of years ago at my nephew’s wedding in New Jersey on the beach ~ all the bridesmaids wore gorgeous dresses in this teal color.    Since then, the color combo of teal & sand has always been one of my favorites and brings back memories of that beautiful wedding!

The flag was added using the end of a toothpick with a small piece of DP wrapped around it.  The sand castle was colored with Copics and then I applied some Ultra Fine Flower Soft in sand.   Here’s a quick closeup of that …

So, I hope you can pop over to the Tiddly Inks challenge blog to check out the other MANLY MEN cards from the awesome Design Team, and of course, be inspired to join us for this challenge.

Thanks for your visit today.

Our challenge today is to (this is taken exactly from our challenge roster at the HM  challenge blog)   …   Football Frenzy:  Inspired by the Super Bowl winning team Green Bay Packers Colors, over all
theme, team etc.,
and chosen by our very own Stephanie of the HMDT!    (she’s definitely one loyal fan!!)

This HM stamp is called Lemonade Bubbles, and I thought it might just work for this challenge … adding a little GREEN and GOLD!        All the details on this card can be found below.

It’s time for a new challenge at the 7 Kids College Fund challenge blog.   This week, we’re letting YOU choose – either SHOWERS or FLOWERS.

This cutie is from the Bildmalarna collection  at 7 Kids ~ Mimosa Umbrella.   I’ve used the Spellbinders Scalloped Ovals die on some white felt for the clouds.

All That Scraps ~ A Sketch

Helloooo out there!    Hopefully, some of you still remember me!     Sorry for the lack of posts, but we have sooooooooooo much to get done before our big move on March 21st!     Thank you ALL for your congrats on our sale/purchase — I really appreciate it.

Smiley from millan.net

This will actually be my last post for awhile for the All That Scraps Wednesday challenge blog  …  at least until some time in April when I hope to be a little more sane!   (knock on wood)

Our challenge this week is an AWESOME sketch designed by the equally AWESOME Rachel Schneider of the ATS Design Team:

I’ve used one of the newest cuties, released this month at All That Scraps, C.C. Designs ~ Spring Kiki La Rue.

Please be sure to take a peek at all the cards from the All That Scraps challenge DT using Rachel’s sketch – and be sure to give it a try … you’ll like it!

So, I hope to be posting a couple of cards during the next month  …   probably only for the Copic Creations challenge — I just couldn’t give that one up!    I hope you’ll stop back for a peek at those on the 1st and 15th.

Thanks for visiting today – hope you’re having a good week.

All That Scraps ~ Valentines (NO Red or Pink!)

Happy Wednesday!    Our challenge today at the All That Scraps challenge blog  is Valentines without using Red or Pink!    Now that’s a tough one!

I decided to go with a black and yellow bumble bee theme, starting with paper from Bo Bunny’s new Crush 6×6 paper pad.    This cutie Tilda from Magnolia is actually called Dragonfly Tilda  … but I cheated and colored her as a bumble bee!

Her wings were stamped onto vellum paper, cut out and attached to the backside of Tilda and then some icicle Stickles were added.    The sentiment is computer generated along with some stamped bees from PTI’s flower garden sentiments stamp set.

I also added a bee button from my stash which has been attached to a black button.    Trying to keep all the bees similar, I’ve added icicle Stickles to all the wings!

I hope you have a chance to stop over at the All That Scraps Wednesday challenge blog to see LOTs of awesome non-red or pink Valentine ideas.

Thanks for stopping in today!

Make It Colourful ~ New Challenge Blog!

Happy weekend everyone.   Hope you’re having a great one!!

My dear sweet friend Zoe, the owner of the awesome online store – Make It Crafty, has started a new challenge blog called MAKE IT COLOURFUL.

Tilda & Edwin are so happy about it  ~  they’re dancing!!  🙂

The Make it Colourful challenge blog will be featuring ideas using all different types of coloring mediums ~ markers, watercolour, pencil ~ with a new challenge every Saturday.

For those of you who know me, you know I LOVE to color!    It’s truly my saving grace during life’s ups and downs.   When Zoe asked if I would be interested in being on the DT, I was SO very flattered and excited …  but a little hesitant due to my constant lack of time – which I know so many of you can relate to!    Soooooo, we’ve settled on my being a Guest Designer for this fun new challenge!

The challenge this week is to use WARM or COLD colors.   I’ve combined one of Zoe’s newest digi images ~Tree of Love  with the new Tilda & Edwin Dancing stamp from Magnolia  (still in stock at 7 Kids!).   So many of the Make It Crafty  images work really well with these popular character stamps.

Yep, I had fun again!   I decided to do an easel card and have Tilda & Edwin dancing on the bottom section of the card.   I used a small piece of Grafix clear film (acetate) folded in half to attach them.

It seemed to me that the leaves on the Tree of Love image from Make It Crafty looked like hearts.    So I colored them to match my DP and added the “carved”  initials T & E to the tree!

And finally, here’s a closeup view of the chipboard sentiment sticker from We R Memory Keepers.

I hope you can pop over to the new Make It Colourful challenge blog.   You won’t be disappointed!    The DT has come up with some amazing WARM and COLD projects for your inspiration!

Thanks for visiting – hope you’re having a great weekend!

7 Kids College Fund ~ Hot or Cold … Choose Your Extreme!

Phew – my 2nd post for today!    We’ve got a new challenge for you over at the 7 Kids College Fund Challenge blog, along with a new Design Team!      For our challenge, we’re taking our cue from the popular Hot ‘n Cold song by Katy Perry . . .

“You’re hot then you’re cold
You’re yes then you’re no
You’re in and you’re out
You’re up and you’re down”

***  HOT or COLD  …  Choose Your Extreme! ***

Since I live in Wisconsin and am definitely tired of COLD, I HAD to go with HOT!    I thought this cutie from the Greeting Farm, Cheeky Glamour, was a great image to depict HOT!    🙂

I’ve used a MS edge and corner heart punch for the border and a small heart punch from the $1 section at Target for the small red and pink hearts.

I do think I had a little too much fun with this one!   I’ve had some white craft boa feathery material for ages – not quite sure why!   So, I added glue to her boa and cut small pieces of the craft boa … all I can say is  DO NOT try this in the middle of your crafting area – you’ll end up with feathers EVERYWHERE!    LOL    I also added some polar white flower soft and star dust Stickles to fill it in a bit.    Her fish net stockings were drawn in with a Copic multiliner.

The sentiment is computer generated and the lip prints were found on the on the internet – it’s amazing what you can find!

I hope you will join us for this fun challenge!    We’ve got a great prize too ~  A $20.00 Gift Certificate from 7 Kids College Fund towards your choice of any of the new Belles ‘n Whistles rubber stamps, now up for preorder at 7KCF!

Snowball Snowbaby

All the details on this challenge and the awesome sample cards from the new DT can be found at the 7 Kids College Fund Challenge blog.

Happy Holidays … a little early!

Seems to be a bit early for Christmas cardz, but I just couldn’t resist this adorable face!    He’s one of many awesome snowmen stamps from I Brake For Stamps.

This is my third holiday season making cardz and I’ve unintentionally gotten quite a collection of snowmen stamps!   I really love using these guys for my holiday cardz.    Soooo, I thought it would be fun share a new one with you each Tuesday for the next few weeks . . . hope you will be able to stop back!

This cutie is called Large Snowman Post  (he actually comes in a smaller size too).   I’ve stamped him onto watercolor paper and colored him with Copics – they say this is not the best idea with Copics since the watercolor paper seems to suck up lots of ink.   I like to do it occasionally, since it really seems to add some nice texture to your image.  I’ve also added some Diamond Glaze to his coal eyes & mouth and the berries on his hat for a little extra dimension and shine.   The gorgeous papers are new this year from Bo Bunny ~ and I do love em!!

The sentiment is from an older Gina K. Designs set, illustrated by my friend the amazingly talented, Asela Hopkins Christmas Blessings.

If you’d like to order any stamps from I Brake For Stamps, be sure to use the code SAVE10MARY to receive a 10% discount off your entire purchase.    I know you’re sure to find something in their selection of over 3,000 stamps!

Thanks for visiting today.    I hope you can stop back next Tuesday for another Snowman Day!

Halloween in Wonderland

Hello and happy Thursday . . . we’re getting closer and closer to the weekend!   I’ve got a fun card for you today made with some of the new Graphic 45 Halloween papers and an adorable vintage witch from I Brake For Stamps.

She’s called Girl on Pumpkin and is part of an awesome selection of Halloween images available at I Brake For Stamps.   If you haven’t visited the I Brake For Stamps site recently, you’ll be in for a surprise ~ Della has completely redesigned the site, making it so much easier to navigate and find exactly what you’re looking for … and with over 3,000 stamps – you’re sure to find SOMETHING!   🙂

Don’t forget to use coupon code SAVE10MARY for a 10% discount off your entire order!

Lots of glitter on this one!   I don’t often do this abstract/vintage type of card – which seems to be so popular right now, so I thought it would be fun to give it a try!    And,  I found it was actually pretty easy, especially using the new Halloween in Wonderland papers.    Besides, if you do make a mistake, who would know?!   LOL

Don’t forget to take a peek at the awesome new website for I Brake For Stamps ~ I know you’ll LOVE it!

House Mouse Monday ~ School Time!

Happy LATE House Mouse Monday!

Been having some Internet issues, so this post is VERY late!    But, I do have some good news to add – my oldest daughter Jennifer, who lives in Florida – had a beautiful baby girl this morning at 5:30 AM!    So, grandbaby No. 8 has joined the family!!    😀

Our challenge this week for the House Mouse & Friends Monday challenge is School Time, with a gift certificate from 7 Kids College Fund as the prize!!      I hope you can take a peek at the ADORABLE creations from the uber talented DT ~  They always amaze me with their creativity.    AND, be sure to stop at the blog to see who the lucky BIG winner is from our 2-Year Anniversary celebration!

hehe … this image always manages to make me smile.  If you look closely at the title of some of the books she’s holding, you’ll see why  ~   Public Squeaking!   LOL

This will be a quickie post today since grandma needs a nap!    I didn’t get much sleep last night waiting for word from my daughter.   We finally heard from her at about 5:30 this morning!     Fortunately, everyone is doing well and we have a healthy 9 lb. 2 oz. new baby girl – who has yet to be named!   It was baby No. 5 for my daughter, so I imagine she’s run out of names!  LOL

Thanks for stopping by today!

Phindy’s Place Challenge ~ We’re going Green!

Happy Friday!   Our challenge this week at Phindy’s Place  is GOING GREEN ~ which means we’d like you to use the color Green and/or something recycled on your card or project.

I’ve obviously used the color green on my card and thought it would be fun to also make this image called Lula Shopping, carry a canvas bag, as seen in so many stores nowadays.    It certainly doesn’t seem to be her usual style!     I’m not sure if it shows up very well in the photo, but I’ve also color-coordinated the cute little poodle too  . . .   “EVERYONE’s doing it!”

The Go Green print on her canvas bag was computer generated, as well as the sentiment on the side.

I hope you will join us for this challenge . . .  Everyone’s doing it!    🙂     And, be sure to take a peek at the Phindy’s Place Friday Challenge blog to see all the WORKS of ART from the awesome Design Team!

Hope you have a great weekend!

My new All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge card can be found HERE.

Hello and happy Wednesday to you!    Whew, it’s a busy, busy day today – THREE challenge for ya!    Better get busy!  🙂

I’ve actually combined two challenges with this card.   Here’s the scoop:

Our challenge at 7 Kids College Fund is a recipe ~ 3 flowers, 2 design papers and something sparkly;

Today’s challenge at Copic Creations is Pleats or Folds in clothing.

I know you’ve seen this cutie before, she’s from the Fairy Tale Collection by Magnolia ~ Princess Tilda.   She’s a definite favorite of mine and I thought she would be perfect for BOTH challenges.

There certainly is a little bit of bling going on for this card, so I think I’m covered on the “something sparkly”!    I was really excited to find papers and embellishments from the new My Mind’s Eye collection called Lost and Found.   Wow, if you like glitter, each and every item in this collection is for you!   I won’t tell you how many papers I bought!   I loved em all!!

Sooooo, I hope you will stop at both the Copic Creations challenge blog AND the 7 Kids College Fund Challenge blog!   We’ve got some awesome prizes up for grabs and some equally awesome cardz from the design teams!   You definitely won’t be disappointed.
