Snowman Tuesday!

Happy Tuesday!   Welcome back for another Snowman day.   I thought this week, I’d go with some of the new non-traditional Christmas colors.   This was certainly an unusual color combo for me, chosen to match the Cosmo Cricket DP ~ Mitten Weather . . . just the name seemed appropriate for these cuties!   The 6×6 Mini Deck contains LOTS of purples, reds and greens!

I’ve used the snowman stamp from I Brake For Stamps called Bundled Up Snowman.   As you can see, I thought it would be fun to use him several times for a card from “the whole family”!     The sentiment is computer generated using a font called Fontdinerdotcom Sparkly.   (Nope, I didn’t make this one up!)   It’s from and can be found here

If you’re up for a little shopping, I Brake For Stamps is having a 15% off all half sheets of rubber sale through the 31st of October.   Here’s the link

Don’t forget, be sure to use Coupon Code SAVE10MARY

for an ADDITIONAL 10% OFF!!

Thanks for stopping by today.   Hope your week is off to a great start!

Sundays with Crissy ~ Buttons & Bows

Happy Sunday!   Hope you are all having a wonderful Fall weekend.   It’s my turn to post for our Sundays With Crissy challenge blog – Yay!    We have a super fun challenge for those of you who love girlie-girl cardz ~ BUTTON & BOWS.

I’ve colored this sooooooooo adorable Snuzzle Love cutie illustrated by Crissy Armstrong for Wags ‘n Whiskers ~ can you tell I just love her?!    But I promise not to go on and on about how much she reminds me of my granddaughter!

Lots of buttons, and actually a few bows – if you look very closely, I added some real TEENY TINY bows to the bunny’s outfit and the hair braid.  Yes, I do love bows!

I’m also in love with this paper from Cosmo Cricket!   Being that I’m a total purple addict, it’s perfect for me!!   You would not believe how many coordinating papers in this color scheme are in this collection called Pixie-Licious ~ I was in heaven!    And, speaking of being happy – I found this scrap piece of ribbon in my stash from a card I had made AGES ago and it matched the DP perfectly!!    Yes, it’s the little things.    🙂

I decided to do an easel card, which is always my favorite for special cardz.   One tip that I learned from my inspiration go-to card designer, Rachel Jakes, is to add a little DP to the inside of the easel fold.   It’s such a simple little addition, but seems to really add a lot to the whole card, IMO!    Here’s a quick photo to show you what I’m talking about . . .

The gorgeous button flowers, which are already sewn and edged are from Sassafrass and come in a pack of 7 ~ a perfect number for my card!

And last, but definitely not least, I HAD to share with you where the sentiment is from!   The dear, sweet, wonderful and SUPER talented buddy, Jami Bova has created a complete sheet of these very cool and popular digi Ticket Sentiments.

They’re really awesome, but the best part is she is offering them for FREE!   How cool is that!    Here’s where you can find them on Jami’s blog.    Thank you Jami!

Phew!   Sorry about the length of this post today!   I hope you will join us for this FUN challenge.   All the details and information on our prize can be found in Crissy’s original post HERE.   But hurry … the deadline to enter is midnight on October 31st!

Phindy’s Place Challenge ~ Anything Goes!

Now this is my kind of challenge!   🙂    Anything Goes.   It’s our first challenge for the brand new Phindy’s Place Challenge Blog.   I chose this adorable little bunny, sick in bed ~ as soooooo many people seem to be lately with one thing or another!   It’s called Feel Better Soon.

I was pretty excited after I chose the image to find this DP from the Cosmo Cricket 6×6 Mini Deck ~ Garden Variety.    Notice the coordinating carrots??    I also used papers in green and orange from this collection for the paper piecing on the quilt, slippers, lamp, teacup and carrot pillow behind her.    Good thing I enjoy cutting!

Be sure to stop over at new Phindy’s Place Challenge Blog to take a peek at the amazing cards from the super talented Design Team!   I hope you can join us for this challenge – it doesn’t get any easier than this!!    🙂

Skipping Stones Sketch Challenge No. 15 ~ It’s a Sneak Peep!

Welcome!   Time for a new Sketch Challenge at Skipping Stones Design.   I’m VERY excited about the challenges this month since we are soooo lucky to have my very dear friend – the super talented and amazing JAMI BOVA as our Guest Sketch Designer !!!     And, she definitely did not disappoint!    Here’s this week’s awesome Sketch . . .

For my card, you will getting a sneak “PEEP” at a fun new stamp set from Skipping Stones, scheduled to be released mid-March.   It’s called Chick Chat

Here’s my card!

This little peep was colored with Copics and then I used Marianne Walker’s  “nasty rag” technique to give her a little dimension.  The grass was added with colored pencils and gamsol.    The dp used is from Cosmo Cricket – Garden Variety.

For some reason, I decided to dust off the old sewing machine for this one – unfortunately, I still can’t sew very straight!   I even attempted to stitch around the scalloped oval – which was then covered by my image!   lol    I tried.

The flower was made using the Spellbinders Nestabilities Blossom dies and edged with a Colorbox Lipstick Red ink pad.   I also used the new Nellie Snellen floral punch – Stamen  for the center of the flower – thought it matched the dp  pretty darn well!    🙂

So hop over the Skipping Stones blog to take a PEEP at all the lovely creations for this challenge, by the awesome Skipping Stones Stamp Tramps!

Thanks for stopping by today.
