House Mouse Challenge ~ Embossing

Happy House Mouse Monday … evening!

Phew!   Sorry this is so late today.   It was a crazy weekend and I wasn’t able to get this card finished until just today.

Our challenge this week at the House Mouse & Friends Monday challenge blog is EMBOSSING … any kind of embossing – Easy Peasy!

This challenge has been brought to us by my friend, the SUPER talented and very dear Heather of the HMDT.

Since I was already behind, I went with some pre-embossed cardstock I had picked up at a local scrapbook store, which really saved some time.   I like that!

What a perfect place for a little nap!    This really is one of my favorite HM stamps ~ Sleeping Under Flowers.   He sure looks comfy – I’d love to be in his place right now!

Be sure to take a peek at the House Mouse challenge blog to see all the gorgeous embossed cuties from the HMDT … you’ll definitely be inspired to join us.

Thanks for your visit today!   Hope you’re keeping dry and warm – we’ve received quite a bit of snow today and it’s still coming down … blech!    🙂

House Mouse Challenge No. 52 ~ One Year!!!

fav hm2

Happy House Mouse Monday!!   And, Happy One-Year Anniversary!!

Can you believe it???!!!    It’s been an entire year of House Mouse Challenges!    It’s truly amazing how quickly time flies when you’re havin’ fun.     😉     And, what a year it has been!   I’ve made some wonderful friends who are fellow HM lovers ~ I think we’ve all become one big family!  And, of course, the HMDT members REALLY are the nicest, most talented ladies around.  I’m so happy to have gotten to know each of them and proud to be on the team.

This week there is no particular challenge, the HMDT has picked their favorite project from the past year.   Believe it or not, one of my favorites was the Male/Masculine Challenge (No. 28)!    I usually don’t do well with that type of card, but I loved this image so much that I really had fun!

Fav HM

If you’re interested, all the details on this card can be found on my original post found here.   So, be sure to stop over at the House Mouse Challenge blog  and see all the favs from the entire HMDT!    I’m sure you’ll find LOTS of inspiration from these amazing designers!!    🙂

House Mouse Monday ~ Challenge No. 51

Happy House Mouse Monday!!

Our challenge this week, chosen by yours-truly  🙂  is Songs!    I just love to match my card images with either song titles or lyrics and I thought it would be fun to see what the DT came up with for our little mouse friends.

Can you guess the lyrics for this one???

Of course I did change ONE word from the original song!   🙂

The look on the poor little dog’s face says it all!  He looks miserable ~ but, if you’ve ever encountered the aroma of a skunk, you can probably understand!!

This image is called Soggy Doggie, with Monica, Amanda, Mudpie and Maxwell.   I added some Stickles in star dust for the bubbles  …

I can’t wait to see all the Song cards by the always VERY creative HMDT …  All the details can be found here.      Hope you have a GREAT week!    🙂

House Mouse Challenge No. 50 ~ Gift Card Holder

YAY!!     We’re back … and better than ever!   (at least that’s how the saying goes!)    🙂

Happy House Mouse Monday!!!

Our challenge this week, which has been chosen by the super sweet and talented  Janneke of the HMDT, is Gift Card Holders.   I haven’t made too many of these, so I was having a bit of a hard time with this one.    I finally decided to use this totally adorable stamp featuring  Mr.Maxwell Mouse called Count Mouse!

Pretty scary guy, huh?   I added a question mark after the sentiment Trick or Treat  so the recipient would see the answer on the inside  …

For those of you not in the USA, it’s a gift card from an awesome store called Target.   I think everyone likes this store!

So, I really hope you can join us for this challenge.   Be sure to hop over to the House Mouse Challenge blog  to see the always amazing projects from the HMDT ~  they always inspire me!

House Mouse Challenge No. 49 ~ Back to School

Happy House Mouse Monday!!

Our challenge this week is Back to School. I know it’s hard to believe … it seems that summer just started! Why do the summer months go by soooo quickly??

I thought this image was perfect for this challenge ~ I just love how the little mouse in the middle is concentrating so hard to write perfectly … while the teacher is standing right behind him ~  such pressure for a little mouse!   I remember that feeling when I was younger, even after all these years!   And, then there’s the little guy in the back, just chewing away on his pencil, he looks a little stressed!   lol    At least we all know where those little pencil stubs disappear to.    🙂

It’s hard to tell from this photo, but each letter on the DP is dry embossed (not by me!), it’s from DCWV Nana’s Kids. I added some gold foil stars ~ for good penmanship, of course! ~ cut out with the Spellbinders Nestabilities star dies. The sentiment is computer generated. I tried to make it look like the old lined paper for practicing your writing ~ MICE Penmanship!    🙂

So, be sure to stop over at the House Mouse Challenge blog to see all the Back to School creations by the Ohh-Soo-Talented House Mouse Design Team. I hope you can join us for this challenge!

Thank you for your visit, and have a wonderful week.

House Mouse Challenge No. 48 ~ A Sketch [& Happy 30th Birthday, Jessica!]

Happy House Mouse Monday!!

Our challenge this week is a Sketch, created by the super talented Emma of the House Mouse DT.

For my card, I used the Gruffies image called Red Roller Racing, featuring Biggly.  I just crack up every time I see the look of panic on his face!

I also thought this would be a funny card for my daughter, Jessica, who turned the BIG 30 on Saturday!     hee hee     Especially, with the inside sentiment!

Obviously, this is not true ~ although I think some people really feel that way!!

I used papers from my scrap drawer, which was nice for a change …   I always wondered why I kept these!   Added lots of red shiney brads on the card base and on the wagon wheels.  The image itself was stamped 3x, cut out twice and mounted with pop it dots.  I also heat embossed the little red wagon 3x.   Here’s a picture to show the actual shine, since it doesn’t show at all on the previous photos:

Soooo, I hope you can play along with this challenge  …  all the details can be found on the House Mouse Challenge blog, along with the other wonderful projects by my fellow Design Team members.  Be sure the check them out.

Thanks for stopping in – Have a great week!

House Mouse Challenge No. 47 ~ White on White

Our challenge this week is the exact opposite of last week’s challenge ~ The ONLY thing that can have color is the House Mouse stamp …   EVERYTHING else must be white!    🙂       Now this one I could handle!     I think I neglected to mention that each week one of the HMDT members will be selecting the challenge ~ last week’s challenge was created byAmerica …   I haven’t stopped giving her a hard time about it since!  (love ya!)    And, this week’s challenge is by Carolyn  (I like her so much better!)   lol

Peace on Earth

I just happened to have some Martha Stewart white embossed border stickers that, to me, looked like olive branch leaves, so I added those to the top and bottom of this card.    Also added some glitter to the bottom of the pine branch and on the white brads.      So, this was a fun challenge ~  I hope you can join us!    As always, don’t forget to see the inspiring projects from the House Mouse Design Team.

Thank you for dropping in today – have a great week!

House Mouse Challenge No. 46 ~ NO COLORING!!!

Happy House Mouse Monday!

Yes, you read it correctly~ NO COLORING of your House Mouse image!    This really was the hardest challenge ever for me!!  I just HAD to add some Fired Brick red Stickles and a little bit of Peeled Paint  &  Black Soot Distress ink…..I couldn’t help myself  ~  Hopefully, I won’t be kicked off the DT!!               Smiley from

The dp used on this card is from my very favorite paper company – Graphic 45, and the Spellbinders Nestabilities dies used are the new Contemporary Heart Pendant  and a couple of Circles.

House Mouse Challenge No. 44 ~ Paper Tole

6 249

Weeeeeee  …    Happy House Mouse Monday!!

Well,  this little mouse sure looks like she’s having fun!   This is Monica and the Stampendous stamp called Balloon Ride.

Our challenge this week is to use the technique called Paper Tole.   If any of you are wondering… hmmmm, what’s Paper Tole??   I actually have a tutorial that I put together quite awhile ago, showing my version of Paper Tole, found here.   There are lots of different versions, this is just one that I use quite often.

6 244

I love the DP used on this card, it’s from Michael’s by ProvoCraft called Illuminations.   The balloon has been layered….several times – FOUR to be exact!!   The top layer was finished using my paper tole method.

Monica seems to be enjoying her balloon ride!

I hope you can join us….But don’t forget to check out all the paper tole projects by the always amazing House Mouse Design Team.
