Kenny K’s Crafty Girlz Challenge No. 4

Well, I just couldn’t resist joining this week’s challenge over at Kenny K’s!   It was the perfect excuse for me to do ANOTHER monochromatic card!!   The challenge is On the Dark Side – so I, of course, decided this should mean monochrome tones!   🙂

I’ve used one of the newest images from Kenny, called Devilish Donna!    This is obviously, another non-traditional Mary card ~  Once in awhile, I just like to switch gears a bit!    I really love coloring the eyes on these images … next time I promise to try one with colors!!   LOL   You really should take a look at the awesome cardz from the DT for this challenge – very talented ladies!    I’m posting this just in the nick of time too, the challenge officially closes today at 8:00 p.m.!

Thanks for stopping in today ~ Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend!

Vintage Birthday Greetings

Greetings!    Aren’t these two young ladies just lovely?     I feel as though I should be talking quite proper when describing this vintage-feel image and card!     It’s one of the digi images from the brand new I Brake For Digis, called Two Friends.

I’ve colored them in sepia toned Copic markers, listed below.   You know I love the monochrome technique – hope you’re not getting tired of seeing these!

I thought the new Capella papers from Basic Grey would be a perfect match for a vintage feel with this image.   I also used the Spellbinders Nestabilities Label Six and Fancy Tags dies on this card . . . added some Kaiser self-adhesive pearls and a small drop of Stickles in Antique Linen  to the rose in the hand of the girl on the left.

Don’t forget you can still use the code SAVE10MARY for a 10% discount off your entire order at I Brake For Digis!   AND, Della, the super nice owner of both I Brake For Digis and I Brake For Stamps is offering some blog candy ~ a $25.00 Gift Certificate until June 15th.   All the details can be found on the I Brake For Stamps blog.

***I’m going to be taking a few days off this week.  I haven’t said anything prior to this, but we are in the process of preparing our house to list, workers and repair guys coming and going, meeting with realtors, and driving to and from the Madison area to look for a new home.  The realtor is coming tomorrow to take pictures for the listing and I have a TON of things to finish up!   Eeeeeeeeek!        I’m hoping it will be okay with the new owners if I come back to take pictures of my cardz on the mantel of their fireplace!   LOL***

Thanks for stopping in today.  Enjoy your day.

Copic Creations Challenge ~ Monochrome

Nope, no need to adjust your monitor . . . and nope, my camera did not break!  🙂   Our challenge this week at Copic Creations  is Monochrome ~ a super fun technique that I hope to use again!    The image above was colored with all warm gray toned Copic markers (the Ws), no colors were used ~ a definite first for me.   This little cute fairy is called Marissa.

Marissa and the matching sentiment were provided by our amazingly talented sponsor – Katie Cotton.   She owns the online stamp store called Paper Makeup Stamps.    The name of her store is related to the fact that besides being an amazing paper crafting artist, she’s also a professional makeup and hair artist!   You REALLY need to check out her work – you will definitely not be disappointed . . . Katie’s makeup blog.

I was excited to find these rhinestone stickers in an actual GRAY stone  – I think they were made for this technique!    And, the background mat behind this adorable image has been highlighted with the new Distress Ink color of Pumice Stone  ~  another perfect match!    The paper is from Imaginisce, called To Love & Cherish.

So be sure to stop over at the Copic Creations Challenge blog to see ALL the totally gorgeous creations from the awesome Design Team.   We also have links to some VERY helpful video tutorials, also from Katie, on this fun technique.    You really should try it ~ you’ll like it!

Thanks for stopping by today – Hope you’re having a GREAT weekend!
