Happy Birthday Jessica!

It’s my DD’s (Quinn’s mommy!) birthday today!!    She’s a purple-aholic just like me, so I was excited to make this gift set for her special day.

Just Us Girls is having a Template Week challenge and I felt like a kid in a candy store looking through the awesome selection of templates from Kelleigh Ratzlaff Designs, the sponsor for this challenge!!   Wow, you really must take a peek ~ I will definitely be back to this site again!

Plus, I was blown away by the samples from the JUGs Design Team . . . each one is just gorgeous!     I’ve used the  Hexagon Box Templates for my project.

And topped them off with a yummy teal and lilac Prima flower.

The matching card is made using an adorable stamp from the Betsy Bluebell set from Penny Black, now available at 7 Kids College Fund.  I used scrap pieces of patterned paper leftover from the boxes for this card  . . .

So, here’s wishing my all-grown up with three gorgeous children of her own, daughter a VERY happy and special birthday today!        Surprise!!      🙂

Hello … AGAIN!    I had the worse day imaginable yesterday after coming home from a crazy week.    Soooooo, my first thing to do is, of course, COLOR!    It really is my favorite form of therapy ~ in addition to a glass of vino!   Smiley from millan.net

I was happy to play along with the Just Us Girls (JUGS) color challenge for this week.    They are featuring the colors

orange, navy, green and cream

~ with the additional option to create a birthday card in celebration of Maria from the JUGS DT’s birthday.    Believe it or not, this IS a birthday card!    Happy Birthday Maria!

Here’s the inside to prove it!

It’s pretty amazing what you can turn into a birthday card!     It definitely helped to relieve some of the stress.   🙂

Thanks for listening to my whining.    Hope you can stop back for a fun All That Scraps challenge tomorrow.

Mama said there’d be days like this . . .

Happy Tuesday!   Hope you’re having a great week.   I recently found a – new to me – challenge blog that I thought would be fun to try this week.   It’s called JUGS!   a/k/a Just Us Girls.   This week’s challenge is to make a card using this apron template . . .

The template can be found on the JUGS blog, along with all the details.   Thought it would be fun to give it a try!   So, I pulled out one of my Magnolia images from the A Little Yummy For Your Tummy Collection ~ Oops Tilda.

I’ve used paper again from the new Olivia Basic Grey 6×6 pad for this cutie.  For the scalloped trim, I cut several rectangles using a Spellbinders Nestabilities Large Scalloped Long Rectangle die to match the border on the mat.   Tilda has been colored with Copics, cut out and attached with dimensionals to a Large Mega Scalloped Oval die.   The sentiment is computer generated.

I probably should give this one to my daughter Jessica!   She’s pregnant and actually due on July 14th ~ She has, however been having LOTS of contractions for the past FIVE days.   So, I’ve been babysitting for my twin cutie granddaughters off and on throughout.   Jessica and Brian actually took a trip to the hospital yesterday (very) early morning – only to be sent home since she’s not quite ready!!    Eeeeek.   I imagine we’ll be having a new baby any day though!   Yay!   😀

Thanks for stopping by!
