Phindy’s Place Friday Challenge

This is a tough one to post today!   I’m sad to say that this is my last challenge card as a Design Team member for Phindy’s Place.    I’ve been really overwhelmed these past few months with a few too many design team commitments and have slowly started to cut down on some, hoping to open up some much needed time to stop by and visit all my favorite blogs!

It’s been such a pleasure to be a part of this wonderful team – Phindy is one of the nicest and most talented illustrators that I have had the pleasure to work with . . .  each and every talented  member of Phindy’s Design Team has become a true friend through these past six months.   I will miss you all!!    😦    Gosh, I don’t like to say good-bye!

Phew!   Our challenge this week at Phindy’s Place is this fun Sketch from Anne-Marije of the team.

I’ve used one of the new Cuties by Phindy, called Twick or Tweet  ~   I just love that shy look on her adorable face!   Here’s my little “Glitter Girl”!

Be sure to stop over at the Phindy’s Place Friday challenge blog to see all the awesome cardz from Phindy’s team, I know you’ll be inspired to join us for this challenge.

Thanks for visiting today!    Happy Friday.

Phindy’s Place Challenge ~ Thank you

Happy weekend!    Our challenge today at Phindy’s Place is Thank you cardz.    I’ve used this fun image called Piggy Diva which actually comes with a blank sentiment “bubble”.    I thought the “Mwah”  seemed perfect for this “diva”!

I hope you will join us for this fun and easy challenge — be sure to stop over at the Phindy’s Place  Friday Challenge blog to see all the awesome TY cards from the DT … and find out who won the Winter Cuties from last week’s blog hop.

Phindy’s Place ~ Blog Hop & Operation Write Home

Welcome to Phindy’s Friday Challenge  AND  Phindy’s Christmas Cuties Blog Hop!

We’re celebrating the launch of Phindy’s new Christmas Cuties with a DT blog hop ~ where you will see not one, but TWO Cuties used on cardz or projects on each DT member’s blog.   All the details on how to participate in the blog hop and what you can win can be found on the Phindy’s Place Challenge blog .

My first Winter Cutie is called Tasty Flakes.   As soon as I saw her, I knew I HAD to color this cutie!!     Here’s the full card . . .

As I mentioned, each DT member will be previewing TWO new images today  ~  My second Christmas Cutie is named Miss Chrissy Tree!

I decided to make an easel card with this cutie  ~ here are a couple of different views . . .

Trying to keep my editorial brief today due to so many cardz!

For our regular weekly challenge we are making  Christmas cardz for Operation Write Home.    OWH is an organization that sends blank handmade greeting cards  to deployed service members to write home on.  Please check their website for specific guidelines on the type of cards needed,  and  Phindy’s Friday Challenge blog  for details on how to enter this challenge.

This adorable image is called Gift Wrapped and one of Phindy’s regular Christmas images.

Whew!    That’s it for me today!    Three cardz in one day AGAIN  ~ I hope this is not getting to be a habit!!    🙂

If you’re in the midst of the actual Blog Hop and have come here from the lovely Lynda Nielsen’s blog  …

your next stop is the dear, sweet SYLVIA BLUM ~ where I know you’ll be treated to some REAL eye candy!

My WORD for our Blog Hop is YOUR!

Thanks for stopping by!    Have a great weekend!!

Phindy’s Place Challenge ~ We’re going Green!

Happy Friday!   Our challenge this week at Phindy’s Place  is GOING GREEN ~ which means we’d like you to use the color Green and/or something recycled on your card or project.

I’ve obviously used the color green on my card and thought it would be fun to also make this image called Lula Shopping, carry a canvas bag, as seen in so many stores nowadays.    It certainly doesn’t seem to be her usual style!     I’m not sure if it shows up very well in the photo, but I’ve also color-coordinated the cute little poodle too  . . .   “EVERYONE’s doing it!”

The Go Green print on her canvas bag was computer generated, as well as the sentiment on the side.

I hope you will join us for this challenge . . .  Everyone’s doing it!    🙂     And, be sure to take a peek at the Phindy’s Place Friday Challenge blog to see all the WORKS of ART from the awesome Design Team!

Hope you have a great weekend!

Phindy’s Place Challenge ~ Paper Piecing

Yay!    It’s Friday … and not just any old Friday, it’s a Friday before a THREE-DAY weekend!!!   (here in the USA)    I’m soooo looking forward to a nice, lonnnnnnnnnnnng, relaxing weekend!   How about you?

Our challenge today at Phindy’s Friday Challenge blog is Paper Piecing … one of my favorites!    Unfortunately, this card did NOT turn out as I had pictured.   ugh.   I was running behind and didn’t have time to do much about it.   I had planned to make the card more horizontal rather than vertical.   By the time I realized the image wouldn’t work that way, I was stuck and the clock was ticking!    So,  here’s my slightly top-heavy paper piecing card!

I must say I did LOTS of paper-piecing on this card ~ the apple letters, shirt, pants, shoes, desk, desktop, notebook, apple  … and RULER!    (that was a little bit of cutting!)     This little cutie is one of Phindy’s awesome Cute Kids called Ready to Go!    Quite an appropriate name ~ he sure looks ready to get started!    I remember those days when my kids were young, which quickly turn into …. “I don’t want to go back to school” when they’re a little older.

I hope you can take a peek at the awesome paper piecing cardz from Phindy’s Design Team.   All the details on this challenge can be found there too!

Thanks for your visit today!    I hope you have a GREAT weekend … short or long!   🙂

Phindy’s Place Challenge ~ Christmas in Summer

Happy Friday!   It’s so hard to believe it’s the LAST Friday in August already, where has the summer gone?!?  Soon enough, the above scene will be a reality here in Wisconsin!

But today is Friday and that means a new challenge at Phindy’s Place.   This time we’re featuring Christmas in Summer.

This adorable little ice skater is called Ice Dance and available at Phindy’s Place for immediate download!   I just love the happy expression on this cutie’s face ~  she seems to be having a ball!  Too, too cute!

I thought it would be fun to find a font that had lots of loops to look as though it had been “skated” out.   This font is called Chopin Script from dafont.com, and seemed to be perfect.    The nice part about using a familiar sentiment is that you don’t need to show it completely for your recipient to know what you mean!   🙂

As usual, all the details on this challenge can be found at the Phindy’s Place Challenge Blog.   Be sure to check out the awesome Christmas in Summer creations from the design team while you’re there!   You won’t be disappointed.

hehehe, I was playing and thought this would be a fun image to frame with some frosty edging!    Considering we were  having a heat advisory here the day I did this, I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Thanks for visiting today!   Have a great weekend!!

Phindy’s Place Challenge ~ Baby Cards

Hallelujah ~ It’s finally Friday!   Phindy Phriday, actually.   (it’s been a LONG week of too many challenges, both in cardz and life!)    Our challenge this week is to make a Baby Card – my favorite type of card!

Every time I see this image it brings back sooooooo many memories of when my kids were babies, and a current memory of my own daughters with their babies.    This is aptly named Contentment by Phindy, and available for immediate download at Phindy’s Place.

I finally took the time to look through one of the newest Basic Grey collections – Oliver,  for this card.  I had previously put it to the side after glancing through it, thinking it was for more masculine cardz.    Silly me!    Gosh, I love ALL the papers in this pad!

Also, when I look at this image, I imagine this Mom quietly singing a lullaby while gently rocking her baby to sleep ~ so when I found this sentiment – I felt like I had won a jackpot!     It’s from a word art site that I have been going to alot lately (recommended by my friend, the awesome Jami Bova)  called Studio Girls Scrapbookgraphics.  They have the most awesome word art images I’ve yet to find!   Here’s a closeup view of this sentiment … I had to really reduce it for my card.

Tiny yawns, and sleepy sighs, nursery rhymes, and lullabies

If you love baby cardz as much as I do… hop right on over to the Phindy’s Place Challenge blog to see the ADORABLE cardz from Phindy’s amazing Design Team.    I hope you’ll be inspired to join us for this fun challenge!

Thanks for visiting today and   TGI . . .

Phindy’s Place Challenge ~ Birthday!

Isn’t that just the cutest face ever??   I love the new Summer Cuties  that Phindy has been releasing recently, each one is cuter than the last!    This one is appropriately named Squeezes.    Our challenge this week at Phindy’s Place is Birthday cards/projects.

I had fun with this one, and since I’m hopelessly flower-challenged, I used some Martha Stewart daisy vine stickers as a border on this card ~ SUPER easy!

So, be sure to pop over to the Phindy’s Place Challenge Blog to take a peek at the awesome birthday card samples from the Design Team.   We also have a Guest Designer joining us this week!    I hope YOU are able to join us for this easy-peasy challenge.

Phindy’s Place Challenge ~ Stitching

Happy Friday!!    Time for a new challenge at Phindy’s Place Challenge blog ~  STITCHING!!!

Soooo, if you visited here before, you may know that I have some real issues with a certain item called the dreaded sewing machine!   My DS (sister) is a pro at sewing, she’s won awards and makes the most awesome quilts and embroidered items. . . which makes it even more depressing that I can’t sew a straight line to save my soul!    When I read about our challenge for this week at Phindy’s Place, I was bound and determined to sew with this machine!!     I was amazed that I actually did it!!    So, this picture is for my sister  . . .  hopefully she’ll be reading my blog post today!!

Now for the card!   Some of you may also have heard about my recent happy news ( See pic of new grandbaby!  )   so I couldn’t resist this adorable Big Sister at Work image by Phindy!

The image was stamped three times – once onto the main background shape, the second one was colored and cut out and the third one of just the book ~ which was cut out and popped up.   Since it doesn’t show too well in these photos above,  here’s one last photo to show you a little of the dimension of the little book.

Thanks for stopping in today!   And thank you for your always wonderful and inspiring comments ~  I truly appreciate them and YOU!   Happy weekend.

Phindy’s Place Challenge ~ Red, White & Blue

Happy Friday and the start to a wonderful holiday weekend for those in the USA!    It’s also  time for a a new Phindy’s Place challenge ~ Red, White & Blue!    I always seem to have problems with RW&B, for some reason I’m never too crazy about the papers available for this particular holiday.    I decided to use one of the adorable little piggy images that seem to be Phindy’s favorites and her definite trademark.     This one is called digi Piggy Balloons.

The sentiment is from Our Craft Lounge  ~ All About the USA stamp set,  which I thought it was appropriate for this cutie!    The balloons have been paper pieced using the matching DP which is from The Paper Studio and has been in my stash for a while.   And, of course, Miss Piggy was colored with Copics.

So be sure to hurry over to the Phindy’s Place Friday Challenge blog to see all the awesome DT RW&B creations!     Thank you for visiting today – I hope you all have an awesome weekend!

Phindy’s Place Challenge ~ 3D

Happy Friday!   Time for a new challenge at Phindy’s Place.  This week our challenge is 3D.   I thought it would be fun to make a 3D chalk holder for my granddaughter.  I was happy to find these deep colored chalks on sale at Target awhile ago and have also had this Short Pail from Stampendous just waiting to be filled!

I also thought this cutie would be a perfect image to match the chalk ~  She’s called Hopscotch and is available for immediate download at Phindy’s store.   She’s been colored with Copics, cut out and attached with dimensionals.  The chalk lines on her hopscotch were added with Prismacolor pencils over the Copic coloring.

The papers used are by Sassafras, called Nerdy Bird – tea for two ~ It’s actually the other side of the paper I used earlier this week for this card;  I thought the bright colors would match the chalk colors pretty well.   Added a few ribbons to match and that’s it!

Be sure to hop over the Phindy’s Place Challenge blog to take a peek at the always awesome projects from Phindy’s Design Team and hopefully you will be inspired to join us!

While I was outside taking photos of the chalk holder, I took a couple of some of my favorite very cool flowers in our garden to share with you.   They’re called Bees Balm and just starting to bloom.   They’ve actually spread so quickly and have completely filled in this section of the garden!

Thanks for stopping by today.   Hope you have a great weekend!
