Kickin’ it for Michelle!

Hi again!    I wanted to get this card posted asap   …   it’s for a special card drive for the very sweet Michelle Oatman.   As many of you probably know, Michelle had an accident about two weeks ago which has left her with the loss of her right eye and a long road of recovery ahead.

In an effort to cheer her up and raise awareness for what happened to Michelle, A Spoonful of Sugar is holding a card drive in her honor.   They have many generous companies and individuals helping with this special card drive . . . all the details can be found here

Michelle and her hubby love and raise miniature donkeys  ~ her blog is filled with news of all the exciting events at the farm.   So, Tina Wenke created this adorable little donkey (shown above)  in honor of Michelle ~ which is being distributed through Stampavie.    Two of Whimsy Stamps’ artists, Melissa Jenkins and Ann Vento, have teamed together to bring another very special donkey image and matching sentiments, these are both available to download for free from the Whimsy Stamps store page.

This cutie has been colored with Copics ~ the DP is from the BG kioshi 6×6 paper pad.     Can’t wait to get this in the mail to Michelle!     Thanks for stopping in again today!

Mama said there’d be days like this . . .

Happy Tuesday!   Hope you’re having a great week.   I recently found a – new to me – challenge blog that I thought would be fun to try this week.   It’s called JUGS!   a/k/a Just Us Girls.   This week’s challenge is to make a card using this apron template . . .

The template can be found on the JUGS blog, along with all the details.   Thought it would be fun to give it a try!   So, I pulled out one of my Magnolia images from the A Little Yummy For Your Tummy Collection ~ Oops Tilda.

I’ve used paper again from the new Olivia Basic Grey 6×6 pad for this cutie.  For the scalloped trim, I cut several rectangles using a Spellbinders Nestabilities Large Scalloped Long Rectangle die to match the border on the mat.   Tilda has been colored with Copics, cut out and attached with dimensionals to a Large Mega Scalloped Oval die.   The sentiment is computer generated.

I probably should give this one to my daughter Jessica!   She’s pregnant and actually due on July 14th ~ She has, however been having LOTS of contractions for the past FIVE days.   So, I’ve been babysitting for my twin cutie granddaughters off and on throughout.   Jessica and Brian actually took a trip to the hospital yesterday (very) early morning – only to be sent home since she’s not quite ready!!    Eeeeek.   I imagine we’ll be having a new baby any day though!   Yay!   😀

Thanks for stopping by!

NEW Basic Grey & Tilda!

Happy weekend!    I was so excited to receive the new Basic Grey papers ~ Olivia and Oliver that I just HAD to make a card!   This  brand new gorgeous Tilda was just waiting to see some ink too.    She’s called Tilda with Veil and she is part of the Magnolia Wedding Collection.    All these adorable stamps are available for pre-order at 7 Kids College Fund ~ You really should take a peek at the whole collection ~ they’re cuter than ever!

As I mentioned I HAD to use these new GORGEOUS papers.   The paper for this card is from the Olivia 6×6 paper pad . . .  all I can say is VERY COOL paper!!    I love each sheet!    Both collections are now in stock and available at 7KCF.

My main mat has been cut with one of the new Tim Holtz Alterations Sizzix dies called Movers & Shapers ~ Styled Labels ~ the perfect size for Tilda!   I also added some flourishes cut with another Tim Holtz die ~ Elegant Flourishes ~ using a coordinating green patterned paper also from Olivia.   Did you know these dies work with your Cuttlebug??   Yes, they do!   And, very easily too.

I had fun with this and used some white tulle for the veil on Tilda and across the center of the card, along with some velvet coral ribbon and flowers from my stash.   Tilda was colored with Copics, cut out and attached with dimensionals.

Hope you’re having a GREAT weekend ~ it’s so hard to believe it’s the last weekend of June already!   Thanks for stopping by today.

Phindy’s Place Challenge ~ Masculine Cards

Happy Friday!!!   Time for a new challenge at Phindy’s Place!    Our challenge this week is Masculine cards/projects.    This seems to always be a tough one – especially with the current popularity of prima flowers, rhinestones and all the bright pinks and other more feminine papers out there for cards.

I was happy to have the opportunity to use this little cutie for my card ~ Big Boots!   It’s pretty awesome that Phindy has this image available in the following formats ~ African American boy or girl –  boy or girl with glasses – and  caucasian boy or girl.    That’s just one of the many reasons why I love Phindy’s Place!

I thought it would be fun to make the computer generated sentiment look as though each word  has been nailed to the card.   I added a 3mm self-adhesive nail head  to each word “sign” and to the corners of the main mat and I also added a row of 5mm nail heads across the center of the card.    Both sizes of these nail heads are available at Gina K. Designs.

The DP is from the Basic Grey Marrakech 6×6 paper pad.   I used a Spellbinders Nestabilities Large Labels die for the main image.

I hope you will join us for this challenge  ~ be sure to stop over at Phindy’s Place Challenge blog for some amazing inspiration for this challenge from the awesome Design Team.

Happy Wedding Day!

It seems to happen every couple of years ~ we have a summer filled with weddings!    And, 2010 seems to be the “Summer of Weddings”!    So, I’m trying to get a jump on all the cards needed, and what better stamp to use than this Magnolia cutie, Wedding Couple B.

I was lucky enough to stop at Archivers at just the right time and scoop up all FOUR of the newest Basic Grey 6×6 paper pads.  Yay.    (Max & Whiskers, Cappella, Basics in white and kraft)    For this card I used the Cappella papers, which I totally love!   If you have any weddings this summer, this is THE paper to use for cards!    The little blurb on the front cover says . . . ” Toast the happy couple with Cappella, a collection of vintage inspired Italian sweet-cream paper ribboned with bold espresso and biscotti-colored confections.   Old world elegance, ripe with tradition, perfect for your pages.   Feast your eyes on pure beauty.”   Wow, need I say more, than I love EACH piece???

Thanks for stopping by today.   Hope you’re having a good week.

OMG!!!

Please forgive my complete and utter excitement!!!    I just HAD to let you know who I received an email from yesterday!!!!    Crissy Armstrong!!    Yes, she has chosen her “Crew“!    And, guess who she actually asked to join her??    Moi!    😀    I was over the moon with excitement!   Way back when,  when I applied to be on Crissy’s DT,  I told you what an amazing artist she is and how thrilled I’d be to be on her team, so this is like a dream come true!!!   Woooo Hoooo!

She has chosen a truly AMAZING group of VERY talented ladies for the team.  I’m really honored to be working with them all.   Our first challenge will be next Sunday, May 9th, so you’ll have a chance to meet everyone!!

In celebration, I made a card today using one of Crissy‘s adorable images!   This image is called Forgiven? and is available for immediate download at Squigglefly!

I found this Basic Grey paper at Archivers, it’s called Max and Whiskers.  It has some adorable dog and cat themed papers, so I knew I had to pull it out for this cutie!    The “dog house” is a gold paper from this collection that was embossed with the Forest Branches Cuttlebug folder for a faux wood look and highlighted with Distress Ink in Vintage Photo.  The sentiment is computer generated.

Well, all I can say is that I’ve had a GOOD weekend!    🙂    I hope you have too.   Thanks for dropping by to hear my newz!     Don’t forget, our first challenge for Sunday’s with Crissy will be next Sunday, May 9th ~ I can’t wait!

Happy Mother’s Day to my Daughter(s)!

There’s something about this image that just tugs at the ole’ heartstrings!   I thought it would be a perfect Mother’s Day card for my daughters, since they are all grown up and mothers themselves . . . and presently each one is pregnant (!)  The image brought back memories of when they were little girls.     (Of course, that means I’ll definitely be needing to make one more!)

This sweet image, Mother and child,  is from I Brake For Stamps.   If you hurry, there’s still plenty of time to order and still receive it in time ~ Della is the faster shipper around!    🙂     And, of course, if you use code SAVE10MARY, you’ll receive ten percent off!!

I’ve been saving this dp from the Basic Grey green at heart 6×6 paper pad for just the perfect card, since I love it!!   It seemed to be made for this image.   The little flowers are punched with several EK Success punches and I’ve added some white 3 mm brads to the centers.   The oval shape was cut with a Spellbinders Nestabilities Large Petite Oval die.  The sentiment is computer generated.

Thanks for visiting today!   Hope you’re having a GREAT weekend!

Just a little thing

It’s Wednesday!   And you know what that means don’t you??   A new challenge at All That Scraps  ~  It’s Pink & Brown this week.    I was excited that I could finally use this cool brown ribbon, with tiny pink flower edging from my dear friend America, I’ve been hoarding it for a very long time for the just the perfect occasion!

For my card, I used this adorable sprite (I believe that’s what she is!) from Sweet November Stamps designed by the amazing Amy Young ~ named Darby and Chenille.   Chenille is the little caterpillar inching his way along the top of the sentiment, in case you missed him in the first picture.

The DP is from an older Basic Grey 6×6 paper pad called Sugared.  I cut out individual flowers from the DP and glued them to the polka dots on Darby’s dress.  She is mounted on a Spellbinders Nestabilities Blossom die cut.  The sentiment is from PTI ~ they always have the most perfect sayings!

We’re taking the week off next week, so this challenge will be running for TWO weeks!   Lots of time for you to join us.  Be sure to pop over to the All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge blog to take a peek at the ADORABLE cards from the entire Design Team.

Glad you could stop in today – I appreciate it!

All That Scraps Challenge ~ Distressing

Happy Wednesday ~ time for my favorite challenge!   This week we were to use Distressing on our cards.   This is always a real challenge for me, but I do have fun trying with my favorite distressing tool!   The so-cute image is a new C.C. Designs Swiss Pixies image called Birgitta on a tree stump.

I pulled out my Basic Grey Indian Summer 6×6 paper pad for this one.  I was sooo happy to find these Prima Cherry Blossom flowers in my stash that seemed to match the colors perfectly!   I added some white candy dots to the corners and a ribbon from my stash.  Birgitta’s boots were painted with Smooch moonlight paint.

You really MUST stop over at the All That Scraps Challenge blog to take a peek at the awesome cards from the Design Team!   I hope you can join us in this challenge.

Thanks for visiting today ~  And, don’t forget tomorrow is the 15th of the month and time for a new Copic Creations Challenge!

All That Scraps Challenge – Shaped Card

Happy Wednesday!   Time for a new challenge at the All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge blog ~ a Shaped Card.   I used a flower shape for one of the new Sweet November Stamps by Amy Young, Clover Greenfield.

The gorgeous flower DP is from Basic Grey ~ Kioshi.   I added lots of Crystal Stickles to this one since fairies always seem so sparkly!    The flower shape that I used is a template found in the right sidebar at Peets Scrapalbum.

Don’t forget to stop over at the All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge blog to take a peek at all the GORGEOUS shaped cards from the awesome Design Team.   I hope you can join us for the fun challenge!   Thanks for stopping by today.

Morning Glory Collage

I’ve always loved Morning Glory flowers ~ they definitely bring back memories of when I was young.  They turn to seed in the Fall and I would always collect the seeds!    I actually grow them now and did a post awhile ago with pictures of some of my favorites from our garden that can be found HERE.

This stamp is from the awesome floral selection at I Brake For Stamps, called Morning Glory Collage.   Don’t forget, you can save 10% if you use code SAVE10MARY on your order from I Brake For Stamps!

Since I also LOVE purple, I decided to color these using purples.   The dp is from the new Basic Grey Kioshi collection.

I thought this stamp would make a great Mother’s Day card, since all Moms love flowers.  The banner is blank, and I added the word Mom to a stamped image with my printer.    The flowers and leaves were colored with Copics, cut out and attached with dimensionals.  I also added some purple self-adhesive pearls.

Thanks for visiting today ~ I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!

Copic Creations Challenge No. 25 ~ Flowers

Happy April 1st, a/k/a April Fools Day!    🙂    And, time for a new Copic Creations Challenge.

As we begin our second year of challenges, we are starting out with an easy one – Coloring Flowers.   We thought it would be perfect with the arrival of Spring and our sponsor for this week – Paper Garden Projects.   They have a $25.00 Gift Certificate up for grabs to one lucky participant – I hope you can join us!

For my card this week, I used one of my all-time favorite stamps from the awesome Gina K. Designs, by Melanie Muenchinger ~ Arranged with love.   It comes with lots of different sentiments that fit perfectly in the box.   Since we needed a card for a friend of the family who received some discouraging health news recently, I thought this one would work well.

The Flowers and leaves were colored with Copics, cut out and attached separately to a second stamped image on a light blue-green piece of dp to match the printed dp, both from the new Basic Grey Kioshi 6×6 pad.   I colored the roses yellow since this color is supposed to signify care and concern.

You HAVE to hop over to the Copic Creations Challenge blog to take a gander at the REALLY amazing flower cards from the VERY talented Design Team!   You definitely won’t be disappointed!

All That Scraps Challenge ~ Spring Bling

I just LOVE Wednesdays!   That’s because it’s time for a new All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge!!    This week our challenge is Spring Bling.   Perfect for this time of year – so, no excuses for not joining us!   🙂

For my card, i used Emmy from the C.C. Designs babybuddesigns collection.   She seems just so sweet and innocent, and I just love her curly hair!

I hope there’s enough bling on this card – I think the bright springy colors are awfully “blingy” and  I also added some green glittered brads.  The DP is from the new Basic Grey Kioshi collection, which I love.

The large flower petals behind the main image circle were cut with a Cuttlebug flower die and embossing folder.   I also used the Spellbinders Shapeabilities Ribbon Tags Trio 2 die for the sentiment, which is from the PTI Green Thumb set.   Emmy was colored with Copics, cut out and attached with dimensionals, with a little Stardust Stickles added to her flower and wings.

So, be sure to stop over at the All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge blog to check out all the awesome Spring Bling eye candy from the DT!   And, I hope you will join us in this fun challenge!!

House Mouse Challenge ~ Easter

Happy House Mouse Monday!!

Our challenge this week, which was chosen by the awesome and super talented Heather (Rica) Gilfoy Bond  from the House Mouse Design Team, is Easter.    The HM image I used is called Feed and Seed, featuring Muzzy and friends!

The dp is from the new Basic Grey Kioshi 6×6 paper pad – another one that I totally love!   I also used one of my favorite Spellbinders Nestabilities dies, Labels Six for the main shape and one of the Fancy Tags for the sentiment, which was computer generated.

FYI:   There will be a call-out for new designers over at the House Mouse Challenge blog for anyone who might be interested  {SUE!}.  Be sure to check out all the details and take a peek at all the ALWAYS amazing creations from the Design Team on the House Mouse Challenge blog.
